I've been using a Fobus Roto holster for my G30. Other than being very difficult for someone to remove from "the wrong angle", it has no retention to speak of. |

Here you go. The first holster of it's kind. Not even blackhawk makes it. So here is what I did. I went out and purchased a blackhawk serpa close quarters concielment holster for the fullsize glock 45 caliber, then I took my leatherman and selected the sawblade, then continued to cutoff 2 inches of the end of the holster. You first have to remove the friction brake inside. After cutting up a perfectly good $70 holster , take a fine not coarse flat file and round off the rough edges. Make sure you tape off the holster before sawing, the carbon fiber is pretty tough, this will keep the schwag to a minimum. Reinstall the friction bar back into gun, insert gun, install on right hip, and giddy up cowboy.
I forgot to add a comment about functionality. Because I cut so much of the holster off, it lightened the total weight significantly. Also, because I retained the friction brake inside, the holster performs exactly the same as it was intended. I know that Blackhawk will not warranty the holster but that doesn't matter to me. Having my Glock 30 in a Blackhawak serpa CQC holster is pretty nice. Because of the shortened length, it does not stick out of my buttondown shirt when i am carrying. Of coarse I dont tuck my shirt in. The short length of the holster also permits me to carry in my car in colorado and it does not get in the way of my seat or safety belt. I can still draw safely if I need to. I must say I was a little nervous about cutting up an expensive holster, but I think the risk was worth it.
