Default Address change on LTCF

I'll be moving soon, but I'll stay in the same county. Do I have to update my address or not? What if I move in different county?

I recently moved within Buck county, and just sent the sheriff's office a letter. I haven't heard anything back from them, and assume that there is no problem. As far as I know, there is no responsibility to inform the sheriff's office of your change of address, but they won't be able to send out the required renal notice if they have an old address.

There is no legal requirement to change your address on the LTCF, and according to previous posts here, it depends on the sheriff of the county in question. Some will change it for you, others will say don't worry about it.

You might want to check with the sheriff or just wait until your LTCF renewal time to change it.

There are no provisions in the law for effecting an address change on an LTCF, so you couldn't do it even if you wanted to.

An LTCF is good until it expires, at which time, when you renew/reapply (there's a difference?) then the address change will take place, but not before.

When I asked York County about it, they told me to just write the new address on my LTCF. Which is kinda hard to do since its laminated. Crappy part is: never received the notice to renew, hence the reason it expired in May. Well and the fact, that I left it in a drawer for the longest time

Years ago, i changes location in Montco. I called the sheriff’s office and informed them. They did change the address in the computer (or wherever they store my info) because i received my renewal at my new address.

Like said by others, you don’t need to inform them but i wanted to make sure my renewal letter came to my new address so i didn't accidentally forget to renew it.
