Hmmmm. when I go to lunch today I think I'll try that concept and put the truck in reverse. Theoretically, would I use less gas by driving in reverse?

Uh, I was trying to say the holster can point 10 degrees forward of verical to 10 degrees rearward, for a range of 20 degrees, thats how I understand it.

Yes, per IDPA it can't be adjustable. (yeah, we all bitched, it's why IDPA has dropped off in our area). For cant, in USPSA you need to have the muzzle be pointing within 1m of your feet when standing up. As for the "sense" in trying the games dependent on your carry hoster I have only one thing to say: Two years of either one of those games and you will be faster and more accurate by a factor of 3 with any gun/gear. What you have previously thought was fast/accurate will be redefined. The games are not training, but they will teach you to use the gun at a level you would likely never attain on your own. http://www.uspsa.org/rules/Handgun_15th_2004.pdf

Worst case scenario, I could watch/practice up at the club a few times and continue with that type of "practice" on my own as time permits. Either way, I want to start practicing more "realistic" shooting instead of standing and pointing at a target with a handgun I just picked up off a table. Thanks for the info! ![]() I think Roland was trying those Jedi mind tricks on me!

Kidding! I'd love to stop up one night, it's just tough to do (time).I appreciate the offer to make me the target stands, but perhaps you can just show me how to build one. My wife would LOVE it if I were to put all of those scraps of wood in the garage to use!

Who said you need different gear?
"Production Division" is all about stock guns and Kydex holsters are the holsters of choice. 10 round limits and no race gear. USPSA isn't just about race guns.......

Just thought I'd revive this thread because (a) it's a good thread, and (b) I went holster shopping this weekend and checked out a Fobus.
I went down to Anthony Arms specifically because I'd seen that they had a Fobus paddle holster that was supposed to fit my Kahr MK9 last time I used their indoor range. (Fobus Model KA1) Since I'd had a good experience using a kydex holster at the FIRE Institute pistol class over at PMSC a few months ago, I was interested in getting a holster for OWB use at the range and (occasionally) for concealment under shirt/jacket. Wow. Neither I nor the guy at the shop could even get the MK9 into the holster. After a while, we just stopped struggling with it, because we were afraid that even if we DID get it in, we'd never get it out. After looking around at a few other holster (including a painful experience with an IWB,) I settled on a Galco Stinger. It cost twice as much as the Fobus, but it looks and feels so good that this may become my preferred method of carry. (Up until now, I'd been pocket carrying.) Even with just an untucked t-shirt on the holster+gun really isn't that visible. And with a vest/jacket, it disappears. Thanks to everyone who offered their opinions on this thread. Before I saw it, I'd been thinking about buying a Fobus holster I saw for sale on eBay..... After reading it, I figured I'd better try one out first. Saved me a headache. (Not to bash Fobus -- I mean, if some people have good experiences with them, so much the better. It definitely wasn't for me, though.) P.S. I think this is the video Justin was talking about: http://media.putfile.com/gungrab-fobus Last edited by Johannes_Paulsen; June 18th, 2007 at 02:03 PM. |
