I ran away laughing, but had to control myself from reviewing the last meal I ate.

OK, here's where I am with this holster idea...
Went to Anthony Arms and tried out a BASIC, non-adjustable Fobus paddle holster. IMHO, it Sucked. Too much "break-in" req. for my tastes. You had to FIGHT to get the gun out of that thing. I've been told that they will flex and that you can work them to fit better, but I'm not pissing around w/that. I DO see how a paddle w/o a belt could be problematic w/the Fobus. I then tried a Blackhawk brand holster (Level 2 SERPA - Carbon Fiber Finish) that worked VERY well. http://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=4100 It was more money, ($42) but seems worth it. I was worried about how difficult it may be to release the "lock" to draw the weapon, but it was amazingly simple to do. PLUS it's adjustable for cant and comes w/paddle AND belt attachments. If I don't see anything else I like better, I'm GETTING the Blackhawk. I also slipped on some "wanna-be" tactical "plastic" paddle that came with a double mag holder as a set for ONLY $32. Total crap. the paddle didn't even go down far enough to securely hold onto my jeans and it felt top-heavy. You get what you pay for. Went to Gander Mountain and tried an Uncle Mikes Kydex paddle for $25, it WAS easier to use than the Fobus and was somewhat adjustable as well. (cant as well as retention) For only a few bucks more, it seemed better than the Fobus. If I get a chance, I'll stop in the Sportsman's Warehouse. They seemed to have a decent selection last time I was there, but I don't recall what brands. The Blackhawk is at the top of the list right now. It's a little more than I wanted to pay, but pretty close to the max. of $40 I had in mind. Thanks again for all the help guys! If you think of anything else I should know, fell free to add it here.

I don't care if it's adorned with "neked wimmens" in gold plating, it seemed to WORK very well!

It alright if you prefer kydex, i used to, but switched to leather after some extensive close contact training. So, yes, in my opinion the less "tactical" holster is the better tactical choice. As for cheap plastic holsters like fobus. Don't buy them and if you own them throw them away. They are not suitable carry holsters. "But i just use them at the range" You should always train how you fight, so my suggestion that you scrap it stands. Every one of us has made that $20 mistake, usually early on, myself included. OK, I bought the Blackhawk today.
BlackHawk CQC SERPA Holster - Active Retention - Carbon Fiber Finish http://www.blackhawk.com/product1.asp?P=4100 So far, so good. I'll trying it out at the range on the 15th. I'll have to practice with an empty gun at home first. I like that it comes with the belt attachment AND a paddle. Easy to change, adjustable forward and backward as well as up and down. VERY well made. I saw some cheapo, no-name "kydex" holster and this one is 200 times better. That release button is amazing. Locks that puppy in there and releases so easily without any fumbling. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

, I would have been better off not knowing that ! I do use a fobus paddle dbl mag holder for IPSC. The first holster I ever bought was an uncle mikes shoulder holster-which they don't let you use for IPSC- for safty reasons. I'd be glad to show you sometime-I'm not much on these long posts. Try different stuff and see what you like best. Your not married to it and if you don't like it sell it. See you at the range.
