The idiots threatening to disarm Meleanie need to listen to themselves. "I'm afraid that a woman with a gun is dangerous, so I'm going to start a struggle for her gun in front of our kids!" Unbelievable. The best outcome is for people to stop freaking out and let Meleanie watch her kids play without being harassed. Showing up to give "support" is going to achieve the opposite outcome, I would bet money on it.
Like I said, this was my original thought. But after reading some of the posts, I'm not sure the soccer crowd will let it go. I agree that in a perfect world, it should be about the kids having fun and being able to play without all of adult drama going on and I hope that is what happens. I really do. If not, maybe plan B will good idea.

That would be me. I could call myself anything I want, and the antis are going to have trouble with what I think and write.

Might it be a good idea to really push the fact with these people, that when a person is OCing a gun... that it is most likely in a retention holster making it very difficult for fathers(!) or anyone else except the gun owner, to "grab" the gun?

Or wouldn't they understand this?

Seems that if they realize the gun is not just there for the taking by anyone that it may calm them a little???

Probably not, though.

wow just looked the the news website lol first thing i noticed is even the Patriot News after court hearings and i would assume some backround checking still calls the LTCF a concealed permit lmao talk about unprofessional !!

next is the guy that is going to tell me to "cover it up" or "take it away" from me... well buddy go ahead and tell me those things see where it gets you...

i'm not going to go on there and post my opinions , Kimba and Pennsy, rocketfoot and others are doing a much better job of it than i could ..

i still can't beleive that guy has to feel that he can intimidate people to "conform" to his opinion..is his last name Hitler ? Stallin perhaps ???

just WOW !!!

Everytime I hear things like "Why bring a gun to a <blank>?!" I just remember all the news reports with the following

"Gunman kills 4 then himself"
"Gunman kills 9 at school"
"Gunman kills 10 at Mall then himself"

Ad nausum...

The people who are least likely to hurt people are those who CC and OC legaly.

Next news headline...

"Man in Obama t-shirt attempts to disarm gun-toting soccer mom"

In all seriousness, I think these comments alone should compel a show of support for Melanie at the next soccer game.
Nope....not even close.......'Gun-Toting Soccer Mom threatens helpless Saint who did nothing wrong"...sounds more like it.....

I agree that trouble can happen anywhere, but I think the question of "why carry to a soccer game" frames the issue as though a soccer game is special, or that SFN only carries there.

I don't think it's right to get into a debate about why a soccer game in particular necessitates carry. There's no special reason to carry at a soccer game, or at the grocery store, or anywhere. If you only carried when you were expecting a gun fight, you'd never carry, because who would choose to go to a gun fight?

I think the best response is: "I chose to prepare to protect myself and those in my care. I am armed here only because I'm armed everywhere I go." The point is that SFN carries, she has made a choice (and we're pro choice, right liberals?) to be prepared to defend herself. That choice is always in effect. Soccer games just happen to be on her daily "to do" list sometime.

Yes but you failed to pick up on one thing.

They spelled organize as "organise"

That probably mean they are british and the british are way more anti gun than us.

So of course they feel it is ok to trample on our rights.

Gun rights and the harassment thing.
