Angry "Guns in Airports? Who knew?" -hit blog/ post comments

Check out the following link for a very short post from Aviation Week.com:

www.aviationweek.com

Even in such a short article/blog post, it's pretty evident that the author is quite an anti. She takes that, "ohh my god, a gun? here? why?" attitude. Seems like she may have similar feelings about carrying as those who harassed SFN just a short time ago. But, I believe she may just be misinformed. She states:
Quote:
"I am a law-and-order kind of girl. My sister is a cop, and we both learned how to shoot guns at an early age. I would not be afraid to use one if the need arose.

But I can't for the life of me understand why some people feel the need to bring their guns to the airport.
"
Later, she asks for responses:

Quote:
"Maybe I'm missing something. Please -- drop me a note or make a comment to explain why you think people need to carry a gun in pre-security areas of the airport."
Well, I can't think of a better group of folks than PAFOA members to help educate her. Maybe we could offer some insight on a few things. One, depending on the type/ownership of the airport, it's not really anyone's place to restrict weapons in the pre-security areas. Two, hopefully we can relinquish the author of her "eww, guns... here? you people must be insane" type of attitude, because her audience is large and a lot of people unfortunately assume a similar stance.

Happy Discourse!
