Yes, always.... Unless impossible or oversight.
Extra ammo is about more than round count. An accessible reload is important reliability insurance for defensive pistol system.

i voted no, i usually do not carry a spare mag.
however the points brought up by you fine upstanding folks brings to light something i hadn't considered ... what if the mag spring breaks/fails ? if the mag bottom breaks or is somehow broken ? what if i loaded the first mag backwards? lol sorry ya never know right ?? definitely will be taking the other one along now... thanks for the eye opener

I carry 2 spare mags in my front weakside pocket and have been for the last 4 years or so. They are but 7 rounders for a Kahr P9 Covert which is a 6 round flush fit mag.
There is no discomfort in doing so and I work construction crawling in and out of ceilings, in and under crawl spaces. My only concern is being chosen for random drug testing where you have to empty your pockets first and lift up your pants above the shoe line. I have had to stash the pistol and mags on short notice. I now have a compartment in the bottom of my tool bag with a COM lockbox i got through Pa. Patriot and can readily stash the pistol and secure the bag inside a gangbox. 27
