Yeah thats a really sticky situation you got right there. For me, it always come down to this. What a man will do and what he won't do for the one he loves.

Good luck.

"To thine own self be true." What's that mean to me? It means I am who I am, and you are who you are. A person can't be someone they're not.

If carrying a self-defense device for whatever reason is who you are, then you indeed would not be true to yourself if you changed just to please someone.

If people, including family or acquaintance's family, like you or dislike you, it's because of who you are, not what you are, or what you look like, or how you dress, or what you carry.

Besides, bad things can happen anywhere, any time, and it's best to be prepared to deal with such.

There was a thread a few weeks or so ago with a similar situation. Friends of the CC'ers wife invited them to a camp, but asked that the hubby not carry. He came and asked for suggestions.

There were some that said to go ahead and carry and screw what anyone thought about it, you have to be prepared, etc, etc.

But I pointed out the people who owned/leased/whatever the camp specifically asked him not to carry and suggested he simply not go if not carrying was not an option.

I'd suggest the same in your situation. Its HIS camper, his home away from home, the rules are his to make, regardless of the reasoning behind making them.

To carry when you were asked not to would be disrespectful, imo.

Having said that ... I'd think about talking to the father and asking him directly. Maybe he won't have a problem with you CCing if it stays concealed. A middle ground so to speak.

Just my $ .02

Some people can't get past pleasing others. You have come to the point in your life where you care about more important things, do what you feel is right.

Very good point. If you give in an inch they will take it a mile.

This was the best article I could find on this but...asked not to carry while at a camp? PFFT! http://www.kjrh.com/news/local/story...e-8f173851f825 You can google this and find all sorts of details about what happened to these poor girls. There is a book and a movie called "Someone Cry for the Children". I have seen the movie but the book is somewhere in the neighborhood of 100.00 and is considered a reference book at most if not all libraries because of some of the content.
