i was told i was crazy for oc at lowes in carlisle

i took my wife to Lowe's today to pick up a few things . i had a man approach me and ask if i was a cop . i say no I'm not to witch he replied than what the hell are you doing careing a gun in public like that . i told him it was completely legal to do so . he said i know that but its also totally crazy . it was not more than five min latter the store manager approached me and asked if that was a firearm on my side . i say ed yes it is,he then ask if i had a ltcf i say yes i do but you do not need one to oc . he said that was fine but that some one had complained to him about it and he had to check it out . i then gave him a pa gun rites flyer and was on my way. did i go about this the rite way thanks Matt

You were calm and polite, explained it was legal to OC, provided management information that they could verify if they wanted on the legality of OC... Sounds like you handled it perfectly to me. Rep on the way.

You know....there's some truth to that.

And there's also truth to the fact that, while some minority members here bitch about being hassled because of their skin color, I'll bet lots more John Q. Public types DON'T, because they're intimidated by racial minorities.

I'll conclude the following:

1. If the crotchety old complainant was afraid of or otherwise intimidated by the OP, said crotchety old complainant would have said nothing to him.

2. If the OP was a 6' 4", 275 lb. black guy who was OC, the crotchety old complainant would have said nothing to him.

The OP did well....except next time, answer a question with a question:

"Are you a law enforcement officer?"

"Are you Lowes security?"

"No"

"Then who are YOU to think you can address ME in this manner?"
