Oh I'm not worried about that... other then a few bucks for pizza everything else is going up with us... we'll be putting about 100 bucks into the local economy for a maid service (cleaning) and maybe 50 for pizza. Gas up at the border of PA / NY and hopefully gas up at the same place on the way home.

DO NOT TAKE ANY GUN !!

I'm a new Yorker, lived there all my life. Retired, and moved to Gettysburg 1999.

An unregistared handgun in New York City will get you automatic 5 years in jail weather you use it or not. On you, in a locked box, in parts, does not matter.( The Rockafeller Law and Sullivan Laws)
New York State is not as 'un-friendly' but not by much.

DON"T DO IT!!!

~NO GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD THERE~

I lived in SW NYS for about 10 yrs. Never considered myself a NY'er though. I was a misplaced Pennsylvanian. Originally from PA. I moved back about 7 years ago. I still had a house there untill about 3 yrs ago and used to go hunting every year on my own land. Too far away and hated that fact that it was in NYS or I would have kept it for a camp. Glald to be done with it now. Wish my gf who still has family (not a very good one at that) there would put it behind her too.

What a shame, as I know of some good people who live in rural NY, and the trapping and hunting there is great. The coyotes are some of the biggest and prettiest too, with alot of big blond colored ones. I have bought NYS fur many times, some very nice stuff. It is a shame that a huge bunch of clueless urbanites dictate to the rest of the state.

My suggestion? Keep driving till you get to Vermont! It's just as pretty and you don't even need any lisc to carry in VT!

Angry Re: Heading to NYS

Not worth the possible headache, I lived in NY for over 20 years and it's the pits for gun owners. No assault type weapons and a six month wait for a handgun permit, and that's if they decide you deserve one. Moved to PA and haven't looked back. While not nearly as bad as NJ it's a close second and you will be screwed if pulled over and searched.
