Always strong side, summer under a t-shirt (on my belt) winter I have a shoulder holster Never liked ankle holsters so no I have carried in the waste band but DAYUM its uncomfortable! I have carried our KelTec 32 auto in my pocket Haven't practiced getting into firing position from a draw in quite some time, something I need to practice on .. thanks for the reminder To the time question, again, a good question and something I have been VERY lax in working on. I would love to take one of the courses offered out there and or be able to use a walk through 'good guy bad guy' course but time always seems to be limited |

CC, strong side, now under a tacticool Sigtac vest my wife got me for Father's Day most of the time, under a t-shirt sometimes.
Yes, I do practice drawing my weapon. From OC, and a couple different versions of CC. Edit: As for how long to get it out, see below (I've posted these before): From under cover garment: From under t-shirt: From open carry:

i do both
i OC 80% of the time CC with the same holster or an IWB holster i recently purchased. strong side always on hip. i dont practice a draw as much as a should as far as speed my OC draw is pretty fast but CC is a bit slower than i like, i'm a big guy and my shirts are long so i have to pull them out of the way to get to my pistol.

Question do you OC or CC and wear do you CC ?
I usually OC a 1911 at 3:30 right side in a paddle holster with a J frame CC in weak side pocket holster On your strong side ? Under your shirt ? Under a Jacket ? OC is strong side, BUG is weak side when I CC I use the same model - just switch to a IWB holster instead of paddle or wear a baggy shirt or a jacket Do you ankle carry ? Inside the waist band ? In your pocket ? no ankle carry for me - I had a bad experience many years ago when I tripped myself over a S&W model 19 in an ankle holster - just waist or pocket holsters now- I have been known to carry my 3" 1911 in a pocket holster when going to church ![]() And do you practice getting into a firing position by drawing your gun ? Yes - I draw and dry fire when on the road - I shoot IDPA and IPSC to work on drawing from holsters How long does it take you to get your gun out and into a position to fire it ? 1.5 to 2 seconds depending on OC or CC - OC is faster |

Question do you OC or CC and wear do you CC ? CC, everywhere I'm allowed by law.
On your strong side ? Under your shirt ? Under a Jacket ? Strong side, 3 o'clock. Under a shirt or jacket, depends on weather. Do you ankle carry ? Inside the waist band ? In your pocket ? Sometimes And do you practice getting into a firing position by drawing your gun ? Just about daily along with dry fire practice. How long does it take you to get your gun out and into a position to fire it ? Depends on how far the target is. Actual draw, fire and hit, 1.5 - 2 seconds depending on cover garment and target distance. |

When I'm working, I carry under my shirt and on my ankle, as well as on my waist. If you find me dead on the side of the road, There's gonna be a lot of spent brass around me. I practice drawing everyday, at least once a day. I've never timed myself, but I can get it out and up pretty damn quick.

I will honestly answer your questions even though I don't think you'll like many of the answers.
1. Question do you OC or CC and wear do you CC ? A. I OC about 10% of the time & CC about 90% of the time. When I CC I don't concern myself with whether the firearm prints or not. I CC the same places I would OC. 2. On your strong side ? Under your shirt ? Under a Jacket ? A. I carry on either the strong side or the weak side as I use several different types of holsters (to include shoulder, cross draw, pocket, etc), I will Mexican carry on many occassions, and will even off body carry. B. If CC is the mode, the firearm would be concealed by any means that will get the job done, shirts, jackets, vests, fanny packs, the left or right front/rear pockets, or even an off body carry. 3. Do you ankle carry ? Inside the waist band ? In your pocket ? A. Ankle carry--No IWB--yes In the pocket--yes 4. And do you practice getting into a firing position by drawing your gun ? A. I don't understand this question, but if you are asking do I practice drawing the firearm from concealment and firing at a target while moving to either create distance or get to cover the answer is yes. 5. How long does it take you to get your gun out and into a position to fire it ? A. That depends on the mode of carry and the time would be from the low end of 1.5-2.0 seconds to the high end of 2.5 to 3.0 seconds. oracle
