Does anyone want to go to D.C. for some OC?
I am thinking about heading down to D.C. one day this week (preferably Wednesday or Thursday) to enjoy some of the newfound freedom they just discovered, maybe (definitely) take some pictures, talk to some people, see the sights, etc.
Anyone wanna come with?Junior

Number 1: You had better get in ahead of the stay:

Number 2: You should make contact with Chief Lanier and let her know where you plan to be and what you plan to be doing (like Philly). Not all of DC is open for such activity and she could provide guidance. I work nights, but could take time off. I may not live long enough to see this opportunity come around again. While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Just don't go armed into any fed buildings. They're sort of tough to avoid in the touristy parts of DC.
I am not a lawyer. Nothing I say or write is legal advice.

I've got a bad feeling about this. I can't quite put my finger on it, but something tells me that this is a bad idea.
There's no such thing as a free lunch.

I think it all hinges on how it's done. If it's done the way the marches in Philly have been done, Speaking for myself, I'm in.
But it has to be ahead of the stay. And I have a feeling the stay is going to be rushed through at unheard-of speed. Like hours. And kill this whole thing. While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

Re: Does anyone want to go to D.C. for some OC?
I agree with you on this.
I am 100 percent in favor of OC. But although our country has seen great progress in our civil liberties (with regards to firearms rights), there is still a very powerful anti-gun minority that is doing everything imaginable to 'keep the old ways".
Being a civil rights activist is important, but it comes at a steep personal price. I cannot afford that price. I have a family to take care of. I cannot afford to go to jail, have my reputation sabotaged, or even worse. That doesn't mean I don't contribute where I can to our cause (donate, vote, etc). And I certainly support the efforts of folks who have the courage to take the personal risks to advance our freedoms, and do a good job at advancing our cause in a responsible and lawful manner. I just hope that the potential risks and price of being the pioneers of our freedoms are known to those who choose the brave path.Last edited by American1776; July 28th, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
