Re: 1 in the chamber or not
Yeah, I've got a compact model and that is how I carry it as well. For all intensive purposes it functions exactly like an M9 save for the more modernized look, rotating barrel, and polymer frame which are all upgrades over the M9 as far as I'm concerned. I've thought of converting mine to a type "G" as well.

Re: 1 in the chamber or not
Thanks for all the advice. After a few days of keeping +1 and buying a good holster I feel much better about keeping +1. Its a great feeling being able to draw and shoot so quickly. Problem now is I can't find a comfy spot for inner waste band clip. I tried my back but that's a hassle every time you sit down. I ended up pocket carrying even though it's a semi bulky holster.

Re: 1 in the chamber or not
The M9 is what I was trained on also. I was a flight status Mech in the USAF.
My PX4 Compact as I said is a Type "G". I kept the big wing decocker on.( I have and tried the low profile wings) then decided to go back to the Big Wing/Decocker because
1. It helps me to rack the slide and
2. Prevents an accidental "Safety" during a re-rack in a FTF under stress.
I snap-capped that 100 times with a friend keeping track
And then we switched.... We both did a 60% Safe ON
Something to think about

IMO nothing In the chamber is a bad idea. Just make sure you have evin a decent holster with the trigger covered, I buy my holsters on ebay... Nothing crazy expensive just leather with a clip for iwb.
