texas has some very good castle doctorine/stand your ground laws. But their carry laws are suprisingly restricive they also have 2 forms of signs restricting CCers.

I heard FL is also anal about a gun slightly showing or printing. Good thing though, is you can transport on a FL permit , then OC, in PA, VA, and other OC states. Just so long as you don't OC in FL!
As to the author of this article, he should be writing something like " all of these problems may possibly be avoided if our state allowed open carry, and if the public was more educated about people who carry for self defense. In fact open carry is one way to educate." It's odd how so much of the general public seems to have never heard of people carrying concealed legally. I had heard of it, and I was not raised around guns at all, and when I heard of it, it was early 1990's when there were still few states with shall-issue, not to mention I heard of it living in MD! Had I seen a "normal" looking person get their coat blown open revealing a holstered handgun, I'd have thought " oh must be an off duty cop", or "oh must be some guy with a concealed permit". Similar thoughts would have been with OC- "oh must be a police detective or something".

"Not concealing deeply enough is at best, a
disgrace to all of those who carry concealed." *Looks at 6" stainless revolver, carried openly on hip, in a minimalist holster* Guess I have a lot of apologizing to do. Ill never understand the whole mandated CC deal. Its "...to keep and bear arms", not "...keep and conceal...". Hopefully the laws will change in Northern Mexic...I mean Texas.

Thank you for sharing this enlightening article. I have considered subscribing to concealed carry magazine and plan on doing so after reading this article since I am only interested in CC and found this perspective helpful.
