Default Philly LTCF interview and tattoos

I have a bunch of tattoos that were done since my last LTCF renewal in Philly. If I remember correctly, the interviewer asked me to disclose any information about tattoos, but I can't remember being asked to show them anything.

Anyway.... I would prefer not to tell them anything and show up for my renewal interview with long sleeves. It's really none of their business as far as I'm concerned, and there doesn't appear to be any legal requirement to tell them.

Does anybody from Philly remember being asked to show their skin after being asked about tattoos? If I get denied an LTCF for failing to disclose this information, what are my options at that point? Would I be FOREVER denied an LTCF?

It may seem petty and maybe paranoid to some, but I prefer not to be catalogued like some sort of criminal. And I certainly don't want to provide any more identifying information than absolutely necessary because you never know how it might be used in the future. The less they know, the better.

Thanks for understanding, my fellow paranoid cousin-humping redneck gun nuts!😎

FWIW - IF they ask you about tattoo(s) - I would be honest and hopefully get my LTCF. You don't want to get into a pissing contest with the Philly Office because (right or wrong) you will probably lose. AFTER you receive your LTCF - then if you still feel strongly about having to admit to tattoo's - pursue it through the proper channels.

I'm hoping to avoid a pissing match altogether by just telling them that I don't have any tattoos, if I can be reasonably certain they won't ask me to roll up my sleeves.

The other option is to establish "residence" outside of the city by using my brother's address so I can avoid Philly's bullsh1t in the first place.

When I went for my renewal the officer pretty much skipped all of the questions assuming the answers hadn't changed. I didn't have to show my skin/ink. This was last year.

When I went [in a long sleeve] they just asked me to point to where my tattoos are on my body and what they were.

Cool Re: Philly LTCF interview and tattoos

They're assuring you're not part of the local gangs.

Pretty much if you had a tear drop tattoo next to your eye, you'd be rejected immediately.

If you have any of the gang affiliated tattoos you'll also be rejected.

They're just making sure you're not a criminal scumbag, that's all.

Yes, only in Philly, they like to add on stuff not required by law, like fingerprints and interviews.
