All kidding aside I have learned SO much from this website about the laws in PA. I grew up with a lot of what I "thought" was the law. You folks have really opened my eyes & I appreciate this website!

Spent an hour today talking to a friend who CC's and he had the same thoughts I used to... No open carry, no carrying in a bar... and on and on...

Headcase, this is one of those situations where you just aren't going to win, at least at the moment. Having a response prepared is good for verbal sparring as well.

"Hmmm, interesting. I didn't know you could do that here. But what if someone sees it, won't you get in trouble?".

Reply: Well you just saw it. Am I in trouble? If you are convinced I am breaking the law it is your duty to call the police. Now. Have a nice day.

Hopefully he will read the flier, but it sounds like he was all over the map with misconceptions and other vague generalities. What in the world does a bar in GA have to do with PA? Put the ball back in his court. Put people on the spot. By trying to answer his questions, you are allowing him to put you on the spot. I think you did an admirable job trying to be nice to the guy. I would have been more contentious, put him on the defense. Make him justify himself. You are in the right and you know it. It is not your fault he is an uneducated boob.

I would call it a neutral encounter on one level, and negative on another, with the negative aspect being bothered by a moron. But since that happens to me in one form or another almost every day, guns or no guns, I guess my life is mostly negative. Overall, good job in handling it.

I think the most important lesson I learned from it was not to ever leave my house without having coffee first, again.

My wife has made it clear that I'd better get my first cup of coffee in me quickly in the morning, because I'm a total ass-hat until then!

You did good, my friend. Even with lack of sleep, lack of coffee, and a total idiot who thinks he knows everything standing in front of you.
