Default Video of a CCW holder stopping an armed robbery

Apologies if this has already been posted; I couldn't find it via the search. This video definitely got my heart pumping.

Quote:
"COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Police said a desk clerk shot a man who was attempting to rob an east side motel on Saturday night.

Officers said that shortly before 9:30 p.m., a man walked into the Super 8 Motel, located at 2055 Brice Rd., showed a gun and demanded money.

Police said the desk clerk on duty then shot the alleged robber, Antoine Stephens.

Stephens, 20, was transported to Grant Medical Center and was in serious condition on Sunday morning, NBC 4 reported.

Police said he would be charged with aggravated robbery.

3 shots fired, all 3 hit the bad guy, gun was a glock 23, 40cal with 165g Gold dots

no charges filed against shooter, and the bad guy went to prison."

This video is at least a year old. It's true that the shooter was dismissed as being in the right, but I don't know much else. This definitely didn't happen recently. Although it's good that the shooter got his man, I don't know if I agree with using lethal force so close to a child.

Definitely old - I think 2 years or more. There is extended discussion on other forums, and the consensus is that the child is further from the line of fire than it appears on the video.

Could be... I'm sure that being in the situation made him react differently than if he were sitting here like us watching the video and speculating as well.

If I remember right, the guy was also a NRA instructor. I guess that would be robber picked the wrong target.

You can feel the air of shock and disbelief in watching the girl behind the counter on the phone. Her hands are shaking and she's borderline hyperventilating. A major experience, to be sure.

My thought was that he fired too close to the woman and child in front of him, but then I looked at the angle and there was a good bit of room there.

He was fired on first, and really had no choice but to fire back. Now, if he should have drawn in the first place is another discussion.

You can tell that he was an experienced shooter. Proper draw/aim/fire, good grip. I like the way he used his coworker for cover as he drew. He had the BG zeroed before he even realized he had been drawn on.
