Default Re: One of the down sides of OC’ing.....

1) Don't blame those utilizing the RKBA of our several constitutions for the scared and controlling who attempt to unconstitutionally control us (if not personally, through their legislators). They want us to follow laws they themselves feel they are above.

2) I've lived in the small and the big of PA non-philly-towns and have traveled to a number of states (not sure of OC laws on each, off hand) and I have no memory of seeing a single person other than a publicly or commercially suited person (i.e. police or security), or a gun shop staff in a gun shop, open carry. I don't recalling see this in a gun shop by an employee until last year.

3) More open carry isn't going to just change our culture. More responsible open carry isn't going to just change our culture. This is a chess game, not a unilateral movement, and while it may be a decent choice of a move for a single piece, it's not the game. Good try on the idea of classical condition with the gun and the kids/standard american family model thing...

I like the analogy. Open carry is indeed just one move in the game of changing public opinion about "guns". and people that own guns. In my opinion it's a big move though, likened to capturing the opponents queen.

<grin!>
Seriuosly Pex - I found that pic and just HAD to use it.
I'm just foolin' with you!
The pic is a much more dramatic representation of what I thought when I read your post.

That's cool though. I thank you cuz you are much more likely to fight hard and passionately for our RKBA than I am.
