Re: gander mountain erie pa
when i stopped at the gander mountain west mifflin store i thought they had a policy. i looked at the women at the desk and i asked about firearms. she leaned over the counter, and said to me that if carring conceled i`m sure you know what your doing. just tell the guys in the back if you want to look at holsters before you take it out of your holster. she just smiled at me and went back to work.

Proper thing to do is ask for a manager to explain company policy, which in most cases goes along with state law, and in GM case, the afore mentioned posters used to be on the front door, perhaps they have fallen down, and couldn't get back up.
The salesperson was wrong, management needs to know when salespeople are giving wrong advice.

I can tell you from personal experience than a few of their workers at that specific location are from NYS and have no clue about Pa laws.

I was going to say I have a photo of it, but the pic I have is for Cabela's...
There is actually a long thread here about Bass Pro because a bunch of us went there and had a chance to meet with management on the way out.

Unless their (Bass Pro) policy has changed very recently, OC and CC are not problem.
We have even had FOAC meetings in the store in one of their meeting rooms.
I OC everywhere I go and I have never checked my firearm at any of these stores...

...and I have never had an issue. They just don't want people unholstering their loaded carry firearms in the store. If a person is going to try holsters, or trade-in, or get service, they want to verify it's unloaded and wire-tied (or similarly secured).Last edited by Curmudgeon; March 16th, 2012 at 02:11 AM. While many claim to support the right, precious few support the practice.

I had this happen to me in the Mount Pleasant GM where they told me to leave it in the car. Useless to say that I turned around and never looked back......these people seem to think their ass is worth a million.
