Default Confused about carrying and State Game Lands

I live in Gordon, PA.

Gordon Mt has a sign that says its a state game land. But only one way (down the hill, not up) and no other markings, ANYWHERE.

I am confused about not being able to carry :

3. State Parks and other reserves maintained by the PA DNR - by regulation

Is there some 'official marking' that I need to be aware of?

How the heck will I know I am in a reserve or private property? I walk my dogs on some dirt roads, and I may or may not have a pistol/revolver on me for protection from zombies, rabid animals, or whatever else I may stumble across in the great outdoors.

What are the penalties?

Assuming you have your LTCF
game lands yes
state forest yes
state parks no
It is a summary offense, but I don't know anyone who has actually had a run in .
On the surface it would appear to be just a fine, but since a firearm is involved who knows? And since we now know that some sheriff's will use any excuse to revoke/deny it's a chance. IMO state parks have little to offer anyway. The forests are better time.

Game land boundries are often marked with commission "tags". All gamelands and state forests are marked very well with white paint along their boundries.

As stated above, state game lands and state forrest are fine to carry in. But the problem comes in a state park. These are usually just the small areas where the offices are, picnic tables, parking, etc. They don't want people carrying there because it is "unsafe". But this is only a state park regulation, not a PA law. So meaning, if you break this regulation, you can be fined for a summary offense, which is on the same level as a speeding ticket. Sure the local sheriff can revoke your LTCF for this, but the sheriff revoked gnrotz's LTCF for simply carrying his firearm legally! So why worry about such things?

Correct me if I'm wrong...

Isn't there a blurb in the law that states something to the effect of "For other lawful purporse?" Wouldn't CC be a Lawful purpose?

I think that is for schools, and the lawful purposes hasn't been defined by coded or case law.

Knight is correct that the clause you are referring to is in the section about carrying in schools.

You would get fined because the state of Pennsylvania allows the Department of Conservation of Natural Resources to establish their own regulations and enforce them. PA laws also outlines that breaking any of these rules is a summary offense. Hence the fine.

Give an example of a state park vs. a state forest. Where is a state park?

Most state parks are contiguous with state forests.
They are organized areas of the larger state forest
Usually where you may find camp sites, beaches, nature trails, and the like.
Both are under control of the DCNR. Not to be confused with municipal parks.

Example:
Tiadaghton State Forest
Little pine state park is coneected with the forest.

The no carry rule only applies to the state park
