This is not another OC debate thread! But it IS about OC……

In latest “Great OC Debate….part XXIIMCMVI”, someone pointed out (Uh-oh…..I said ‘someone’ and not the actual name!!!) that although we all live here in PA, the cultural, public, and LEO perception of OC varies according to our geographical location here in PA.

That said…..it’d be neat to actually SEE that to verify if it is, in fact, true.

One of my interests is very light and or vintage ultralights. I am a member of a forum (I cannot remember which, my UL online activity is on a more than yearlong pause) that had a Google Map or Google Earth gadget that showed where all of us members lived in the world. It can be tweaked to view who lives in your country (looking down on a Google Map perspective), your state, or your county.

Who knows what I’m referring to? Can we do that for us PAFOA members? Are any of you folks too covert/secretive that you wouldn’t want to reveal your ZIP Code?
Our OC members would be listed as RED dots on the PA map and CC folks would be BLUE (or whatever color is decided).

THAT way, we can really see if OC is a geographic thing or not. We have 5,774 members – I think the data would be interesting and revealin

I would think you need three colors one for OC one for CC and one for both. or perhaps another for those that OC because they are under 21.

It could work. I don't think most members would care if it's zip related. Most have their towns posted anyway.

True.....But I was trying to specifically dial in to those who actually DO OC. I know there are a bunch of PAFOA'ers that support OC, but would never (or rarely) do it.

I wanna see where, geographically, the concentration of actual OC'ers really are.....not just where the OC supporters are.

I was trying to make a flappr too, but my account is messed up and it wouldn't let me complete a new map!

Looks like Frappr is still in beta for a reason. I changed the "pins" names but they're not updating on the first page. Let me know what you think. Worst case, I'll just delete the whole map and start over with everybody's suggestions.

Or is there a better program/site out there? I only went to Frappr because I've used it before.

I stuck a pin in your map. I said open carry mostly but it's really a seasonal thing. Winter is usually concealed but summer is blue jeans and t-shirt time for me so it's open carry. I suspect you will find that the more rual the setting the more open carry you will see. the rual community is more accustomed to firearms in general. I do like county living.
