Arrow Non Resident LTC?

How long does it take and what is the exact procedure for applying and recieving a Pennsylvania LTC?

By the way I would like to introduce myself if I haven't all ready, as I belong to a lot of interrnet forums, mostly gun & hunting related but some car and photography ones to, so I am not sure if I have ever intro'd myself here yet.

I hail from CT and have family and many friends in Penn.

I have lurked here for awhile because there is much good info here. Now I would like to apply for a CC permit here.

Thanking all in advance who respond,
peace

Welcome fellow photo and gun buff

Read this summary first:
http://www.pafoa.org/non-resident-permits/

You need to have a permit from your resident state in order to obtain an PA non-res LTCF

Probably the best place to apply for a non-res LTCF is Centre County.

You would first need a license/permit from your home state to be accepted for a non-resident PA license.

If you have the home license - then you'd need to find a Sheriff in PA that will issue to non-residents.

Centre Co. and Jefferson Co. are very non-resident friendly amongst a few others. Quite a few sheriffs will NOT issue to non-residents. And each county has it's own little procedure. You will need to pick one most convenient to you.

You would first need a couple of the application. Some counties have it posted online, others you can pick up at sheriff's office. Fill it out. Depending on county, you may need to provide passport sized pics.

If applying in person, hand them the app, the required fee($25 to $40+), and pics if required. Some counties offer on-the-spot service which includes looking the form over, a PA Insta-Check, and possibly a chit-chat with the sheriff or deputy.

If mailing in the app: return the application, fee, pics, copy of photo ID(drivers license) and copy of your home state license. ...then wait.

Thanks Patriot,
I already dl'd the Centre County app and filled it out, I saw a place for a picture at the top but it didn't mention a picture in the instructions.

Yes, I have a CT CCW, I have applied for a New Hampshire but haven't received it yet, but it has been only two weeks.

I really am wondering how long Centre County takes to process this.

I've heard of Sheriff Nau's(Centre Co) office doing on-the-spot service many times. And if mailed in, that the LTCF was in the person's mailbox the next week. I'm sure their work load plays a big part in turn-around time.

I contacted sheriff Nau in centre county last year asking about the pic. He stated the pic is optional.
The time to get the permit takes 10-14 days from the time you mail it till you receive it.

Thanks, so no need for a photo then.
