I can state without fear of contradiction that Michele is NOT a boy. However I will state she is very much one of this group/forum/org.

Michele,

I am so proud of you! (silently weeping) I wish there were more people out there like you standing up courageously for the rights of gun owners. Reading your O/C experience put a smile on my face.

They interviewed outside in the parking lot. The restaurant didn't allow media cameras inside.
Tape was rolling....I was freezing!

I must admit, I was thinking of you tonight. I can't believe how something so uneventful for me turned out to be such a shitstorm for you. I kind of feel guilty.
We both did exactly the same thing. Why? Why?
In fact, mine was worse. I strutted around a mall with 2 guns in plain view, one which can be seen from the moon. Why?
I admire your strength. I know it will all work out in your favor in the end. I couldn't imagine myself crawling through the muck and mire you have. You are to be admired! Glad your on our side!

How did the media know to be there? Coincidence? Or were they contacted before hand and notified of the OC dinner?

Just curious...

Michele, awesome report. You done good. (just like I knew you would)

It makes my day to see your report include the sentiment that actually OC'ing has changed your outlook on it. Not that you were anti-OC. You were unsure. And as you found out, the best way to make an informed decision was to try it! Many of us have tried to convey this to the other folks apprehensive of dipping their toes in the OC pool.
Speaking of which... TWO GUNS. You go, Girl!
You didn't dip your toes you dove in head first! I'm in envy of your bravery. I sure didn't have the (round things) to do that when I started

Another point worth repeating was this line:
"I found out something tonight, I walked with my head held high, and a spring in my step, I am legal. I'm proud of that! I exercised my right tonight lawfully, and it sure did feel good."

Some would accuse you of "flaunting", others "showing off".
You now now it''s noting even close to those cheap thrills. It's way more than that, it's about being FREE.

Everybody gets a genuine red blooded American thrill from that. As uncle Ted would say "I'm high on freedom, baby!"

Your experience is a shining example of what OC should be. Just regular folk doing what works for them.
You don't have to be some 900lb gorilla with a political agenda to OC... And conversely OC'ing, and defending that choice, does not make you a 900lb gorilla

PS: WELCOME to club freedom!

As I stated in my last reply.

The fact you OC'd TWO handguns, on your first OC.... I'd say you got bigger cajones than any "man" on this forum.

...Even if you are just a chick from New Yawk City

I went to Petsmart, jacket wide open if anyone was looking, I didn't notice. When I went up to the register to pay for the frisbees, all the girl said is "wow, 10 frisbees you must have allot of dogs". I know she saw my 1 gun, I had to move my jacket to get my hand in my front pocket for the money.
Then the biggie, the mall. It was brutally hot in there so I immediately took the jacket off. I had about an hour to kill so I walked around the mall, O/Cing 2 handguns and nobody even noticed. Toddlers running around, teenagers, security, shoppers, not one look. If they did look I didn't notice.
I did check all 4 entrances to the mall, absolutely no signs referring to firearms whatsoever. None!
Stopped for a cup of coffee before going to the dinner at Wegmans, jacket wide open 2 guns visible. No issues.
Went to the restaurant, they had a little room reserved for us so we were not in the general population of the restaurant. Some went to smoke some went to the bathroom and walked through the restaurant, no issues.
A completely uneventful night for my O/C experience. I was quite surprised, I was carrying 2 guns, one of which is bright pink which can be seen from the moon.
Will I open carry again, yes, most definitely. I found out something tonight, I walked with my head held high, and a spring in my step, I am legal. I'm proud of that! I exercised my right tonight lawfully, and it sure did feel good.
Did I possibly scare a few? Of course I did. Know something, I don't care, its their fear not mine.
Oh, and I got interviewed tonight, BY THE PRESS!!!!! Steve did also. They wanted me because I was the only female in attendance.
I think I did us all proud. I tried not to keep it female slanted, I wanted to put it out there that there are responsible average Joe Q. Citizens that carry guns. We are not criminals, just plain ol' citizens. I hope coming from a female it might quell some of the fears people have about guns. Hey if girls carry guns its okay then. I hope something I said tonight changed at least one mind. It would be a good start.
I met some wonderful people tonight. Good, honest, hard working people.
And they're the criminals right?
In reguards to this whole post..

I think the general population is more sympathetic to a woman carrying a gun or guns. In addition, many people don't even know that REAL (not toy) guns come in all different colors. Many people probably thought they were toys.

Not my perception but I am guessing at the way others probably saw it.
