Default Successful OC in Northampton/Whitehall

In the past few days, I have FINALLY gotten up the nerve to OC here in the whitehall, Northampton area. I have always been open to the OC side of things, but as many of you know, it is stepping up to a whole new ball game because of the possible looks, and remarks you may get and have to handle in a good manner.

Well, I did it in Redners in Northampton, Ruby Tuesday at the Lehigh Valley Mall, in the new Wiliams/Sonoma Store in the outside mall there, and in Lowes in Whitehall.

I didnt get a second glance at Redners, had a couple of ladies cautiously look at me in Sonoma, and Lowes was like I didnt have it on.

I carry a Glock 19 in a Galco leather holster, so maybe it is the whole thing with how you look, and if you look like you should have it, (professionally) then people dont give it a second thought.

Anyone else out there with any successful Whitehall area OC's?

Bravo man, OC'ing anywhere in the greater Allentown area (especially the LV Mall) is quite a feat IMHO.

I've been open carrying on and off for a couple of years now in the Allentown area, Whitehall and all. I've yet to be harassed for it, or even be commented about it, except for one incident at a bank in Catasauqua.

Yeah, I gotta admit that the mall was a HUGE step for me, especially being first time out and about. With the amount of people there for after christmas sales and whatnot, it was pretty much "jump in the deep end" kinda of thoughts, so it made me nervous but it was alright, I have to admit. The ladies that looked at me at the Sonoma store didnt even make me nervous, but just knowing how much I have heard that the Whitehall police are tough on you sometimes made me more nervous.

PA Patriot, I havent heard of the dinner, what is it for, where is it at, when , and general things like that?

It did also make me nervous leaving the house having heard a number of comments on this site for how hard people have found it to OC here in the Valley. I have heard that alot which I think may have made me hesitant to do it before.

Being that my normal carry is a G19 in a galco fletch high rise, it doesnt make it the easiest to conceal being it rides high, so I have wanted to but have been nervous to.

Now that I have my first OC under my belt, I am looking forward to posting more successful carry points on the site for more people to be able to OC and patronage those places.

Congrats, the Lehigh Valley is a very "Blue" area with all the colleges, music and arts festivals and Allentown's very own gay pride (sic) parade, and all three of the big town mayors licking Fast Eddie's boots.

Hey congrats man!

I've been scoping out these forums for the past week now since I just went to Allentown to apply for my LTCF/CCW permit - I live in the Hokendauqua area of Whitehall and have noticed a few members here from the LHV. I've been waiting a long time to get a license to carry and cant wait until I receive it - I just recently purchased a SW40VE/Sigma and contrary to what is said around here, I love the gun as its highly accurate and I dont mind the trigger.

It makes me happy to hear that you were able to OC at the LHV Mall as thats a prime breeding ground for trouble and trash and a known location for gang recruitment.

I hope to hear and talk more with you guys now that im registered here, and look forward to carrying soon without being hassled

Btw, I'm 21 years old and go to school in the area - Was at PSU LHV, now im at Lehigh Carbon Community College, im in the Millen family for those who know who Matt Millen is, uncle is also a detective at Whitehall Police Dept.
