Joe, Chambersburg is littered with micros, so if you don't mind them, you've got plenty of selection. I have three caches that are in the general area of the Courthouse and/or Hoss's. One of them you will want to avoid because of how you'll be dressed. If you'd like a little more info on the other two, contact me via PM or direct e-mail and I'll fill you in a bit more. I'd also be happy to load up one of my gps receivers and see that it's available to use while you're in town if you want.

I'd say we should try and ge tto the CH by 1330 at the latest.
1330 would give plenty of time, it's only a 1/4 mi., if that from texas lunch to the courthouse......

Just picked up a riding partner so it looks like my brother (P-11 shooter) will make an appearance with me. Expect to see Cheesy rider and Princess buttercup rolling into town...

So I can truly say we are riding into town at high noon to challenge the Sheriff.

Greg, thank you for the offer of the GPS. It appears that I can use what I have with decent accuracy so I will pass. But thank you very much.

OK I now know with 100% certainty that I am off and will be there! Matter of fact I got off work yesterday morning, and do not go back in until next Thursday morning!

So if you need anything last minute let me know, I am still pretty close.

As for the 1911 holsters, I was just in Gander Mountain today and they have several OWB holsters for 1911 models.

Anyone have something for a Taurus Pt-945? Trying to not wear my shoulder rig but just might have to.

OK, what is the proper way to remove and store your firearm at the metal detectors.

Are we expected to empty it? Lock it open, place it in the lockbox ourselves? Should we take off the entire holster? Just the pistol? Do we romove the magazine, unchamber the round?

Never had to do this before. Any suggestions or advise is welcome. I know how I handle the firearm. But how will "they want us too". Don't want to give them any reason to bad mouth us.

When I'm at the Tioga County court I wear a paddle and remove the whole thing and stick it in the locker. YMMV

The facility preferred procedure is not likely the same at every courthouse so the best bet, IMO, is to simply ask. Then follow the guards instruction.

"I need to declare and secure my sidearm".
......
"Please advise how you want me to proceed"

I would love to attend but I'm on philly and I'm not sure if there is transportation available as I have none. I am willing to pay my share in gas. I hope I make it there and if not give the sheriff hell.

EDIT: Anyone willing please PM me as I may not get back to this thread.
