Ah, I forgot to post the offer here that I did on OCDO:

"At the moment, I am planning on taking I-78W from Allentown until it merges into I-81S, in order to get to Chambersburg, and I will be leaving the Lehigh Valley around 0930. If anyone needs a ride and lives in the Lehigh Valley area, or within about 20 minutes of the route, PM me and we can arrange a time for pickup. I could pickup in other areas of Eastern-Central Pennsylvania, as I don't mind a good drive (and I usually wake up for work around 0500 anyway), but I might be a little more expectant of gas money in that case."

Just so you all know. I was content to bring my XD in my XD holster. Which isn't that great. But now I have a complex that my holster "won't be nice enough" to hang with you guys. Have to see if I can find a holster Monday evening that is a bit more presentable. Funds are tight, so I my just have to go with the XD holster.

May just wear the Kel-Tec in the High Noon Holster and not wear a jacket. That is OCing. Just not real good.

I have the same feelings, but I'm just rocking the Bersa in a nylon OWB. I would LOVE to have an XD with me that day.

I build custom 1911's. I'm a fan of quality leather.
Guess what I'll be sporting...........?
Probably my Glock23 in a SERPA.
Why? Because it is my every-day carry rig. I ain't OC'ing to show off, I OC for practicality. I'm a regular blue-colar Joe that carries a regular gun in a regular holster.

IMO your XD in a XD holster is practical.

Hmpf, I was just going to wear me Uncle Mike's Sidekick Hip holster. That's if I decide to OC to the courthouse... I'm having reservations about the whole checking process. I'm 20 years old, and thus can legally OC without a LTCF. Does the local LE know this? I'd rather not have my only handgun be held hostage two hours' drive and perhaps a few thousand dollars in lawyers' fees away, when I'm told that people under 21 aren't allowed to possess handguns and/or carry them. Or that my name doesn't match the one in the PSP's illegal sales database for the gun's serial number (my father bought it a few years ago and gave it to me when I turned 18).

As for the CH, as mentioned, the security is not even LEO so...
Besides, if you meet up w/us at the Texas Lunch, you'll be walking to and arriving at the CH with a group including other OC'ers.

ETA: I see your driving which adds the transport complication into your equation unless your driving with a LTCF holder (?)

Ah, well there's the standard load/unload process for getting in and out of the car.

I'm not so much concerned about getting harassed or detained or anything, for obvious reasons, but getting a "you're under 21, you're not allowed to have a handgun, so we're keeping it". And then having to make a trip back down to claim my property once the facts are worked out, which may also cost me money. Anyhow, I think we all know what I'll end up doing

Hmm, I'd also need another holster to wear as in the courtroom. My spare holster is an Uncle Mike's Sidekick Vertical Shoulder holster, which I actually prefer, but it's more of an, ahem, concealed holster than an open carry holster, and it doesn't feel very comfortable without a 4lb gun in it.

We're not even sure the procedure the security will require for checking/locking until we get there.
