Keep at it, Aran, hold the arrogant sheriff's feet to the fire.

I don't know that it's even the Sheriff. I haven't gotten past his office staff.

The sheriff is responsible for the actions of his staff in regards to such matters.
If the staff are acting on their own, it is the sheriff's duty to correct matters.

Indeed. When I eventually meet the Sheriff (If I get approved for my LTCF, I'm going to at least call and thank him, if not go in and shake his hand. If I get denied (Given my clean record and huge-geek-who-sits-in-the-corner-and-reads-silly-fantasy-novels level of danger to society, I can't see why I would) I'll see him during the appeals process) I'll let you know whether he was oblivious to his staff (He wasn't in when I went in to apply) or a douche himself.

I'd like to hold an ideal view that he's a really great guy, but the women in his office are the ones with the problems, and he'll rectify any issues the second they're brought to him, but I'm not crazy.

Perhaps a certified letter to him detailing the problem you are having with his staff giving you information that is not consistent with PA law would be sufficient.
Cite chapter and verse.

And a CC (carbon copy....certified mail as well) to the AG would be a good idea as well. It would only take a few minutes to write up. And I think it would do some good. If you need help with wording, or looking over it, let me, or us know. We are always here to help.

I did call today, was transferred to a voice mailbox, George Spitzer I think the name was, I left a message as to why I called, the DELCO Sheriff's way of issuing the LTCF, and that I wanted to find out if his procedure is proper.

I'll let you know if/when I get called back.
