YOU dont have to record it. The sheriff's office does tho, so contact the AD and tell them what time date this happened, then he will get the tape.

Don't really need something that stands up in count, just something that shows the AG what is going on over there.

Unfortunately doing whatever he wants is a common occurrence in DELCO, and it seems the AG just doesn't care either, I sent a comment to the AG via his web site on Nov. 30 and have yet to hear anything back. Here's what I wrote, maybe if everyone contacts the AG about this lack of concern for the law by the DELCO Sheriff we might get some satisfaction.

Quote:
Hello, I live in Delaware County, PA and have a couple of questions about the PA License To Carry Firearms (LTCF).

I am a current holder of said license and know of a few other LTCF holders here in DELCO as well. The Delaware County Sheriff, when conducting the investigation for the license not only calls the references you list on the application, he also calls your employer and tells them exactly why he is calling. Now my employer is a gun owner and didn't mind but I can see how that would bother a lot of anti-gun employers thereby possibly tainting the responses to the Sheriffs questions. Is the Sheriff allowed to do this?

Also, it took well over the 45 days allowed by law to receive notice I was approved and among the LTCF holders I know both of these practices are commonplace with the DELCO Sheriff.

One other note, the Sheriff a month or two ago, sent out a full color pamphlet about the LTCF to all LTCF holders in DELCO and it was not enclosed in a plain envelope, it was simply sent with an address label attached so anyone that saw it would immediately know it's nature. If that disrespect of my privacy wasn't enough it contained a lot of factual errors about the license and laws in PA that were in direct conflict with the information provided on the AG website.

Your response would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You for your time.

It is my daily carry weapon. I have put well over 1000 rounds through it and it has never failed.

Gorilla not happy

But this is nothing we didn't already know.
Sheriff McGinn indeed thinks he is above the law. He has continuall thumbed his nose at the UFA as well as use his office to unfairly intimidate people to not apply for LTCF's. (By requiring employer info and contacting employers).

None of this will change until he is forced.
Lawsuits.
Complaints to the AG and maybe the county commissioners.
Media exposure.

Gear up DelCo activists, it's time to organize a plan and execute it. Any Delco attorneys interested in weighing in on this?

As for recording the phone conversation.
PA is an "all party consent" state.
For purposes of phone calls, all parties involved must be aware of the recording in order to legally record a phone call.
