I'm not sure you actually have to go there to file. Just send the form in certified mail. A phone call should clarify this.

Just because you file the complaint doesn't mean the DA is required to file charges. I suspect he won't as he will be in bed with the sheriff. You would then need to get a lawyer and file a writ with the court to get the DA to show cause as to why he didn't bring the charge. Then it's up to the judge to require the DA to move forward. Now an honest judge would order the DA to proceed. Wait, judges are lawyers too. never mind.
