I understand and agree completely, the whole process is bastardized by the DELCO Sheriff, unfortunately unless you can afford to be a martyr then you have to jump thru his hoops.

Mine took well over 45 days, he called my employer, but I wanted my LTCF so I went along with the flow, as I suspect most folks do and that's why he still gets away with it.

There's another thread here asking "What did you ask Santa for this year? " here's my post in that thread:

Quote:
Hummm, what do I want for Christmas ...... gun related .......Well Santa, here ya go ....

I'd like to see the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's 67 counties have ONE UNIFORM PROCEDURE for obtaining a LTCF, like it's supposed to be.

I'd like to see each and every Sheriff in those 67 counties respect our rights and enforce the law, not interpret it however they see fit.

I'd like to see every state (& DC) honor every other state's LTCF, CCP, CWP or whatever they want to call it.

I'd also like to see each and every US soldier, wherever in the world they are, come home safe and sound.

Once that's accomplished, I'd like a good rifle to hunt with, oh and the winning powerball ticket.

Bill

Whoa whoa whoa!

If you ask the Indiana Sheriff's people, you have no right to anything but owning a gun! You don't even have the right to use it, just own it!

My Wife just dropped her application off the other day in delco. I hope this doesn't turn into a fiasco.

The application I used I downloaded from the Sheriff's web site, (http://www.co.delaware.pa.us/sheriff/gunpermit2.pdf) blocks 20 thru 26 ask for your employer and phone number.

Good Luck,
Bill

It asks for your company's name and your work number, not your boss' number. The entire application asks for your home number, work number and cell number . . .I have no problem putting those down.

Stop putting your boss' number, put your own work number. No matter what number they call on my renewal, I'll answer the phone.

For me it wasn't a problem, my employer is gun friendly, however my employer told me what the Sheriff asked, the questions were about me, the Sheriff does in fact want your employer, right or wrong that's what he's looking for. I drive a truck so under your way of listing them my work and cell number would be the same, and before you suggest it, I'm not lying to him, it's not worth losing my license over should he find out. The DELCO Sheriff is very un gun friendly and looks for reasons to not approve or to take away your license.

On the application the box simply says 'Work Number'. People often ask me for my work number and I would never think of giving them anything other then my office number. Any other time I fill out any form that asks for a work number I use my office number. It's further confused in that it's right next to a box for 'cell phone'. I did not think that they wanted my bosses cell phone so I would not think they were asking for my bosses work phone.

The sheriff has called both of my references as of yesterday. I expect that they will call my work number and request my bosses name and number and I'll be happy to provide it but I don't think I was dishonest by putting my office number in the 'work number' box.

I think you may have missed my point, I drive a truck all day, I leave early in the AM and don't return until I'm done my route, my "work" number is my employers number, my "cell" number is my personal phone, I couldn't use my cell number for both, I don't work in an office.

i decided to go the "friendly" route, so friendly infact that it made me sick, but she looked through my file and said that it is still in process but she hand wrote a letter to the sheriffs deputy about why its taking so long and put it in his mailbox, also, my employer and my reference are one in the same.
