Florida no longer accepting DD214 or Hunter Safety??

On the DD214, it lists your firearms training. The badge(s) that you were awarded.

+1. The DD214 spells it all out.

I don't know why it would not be considered evidence of firearm safety training. We weren't taught to be irresponsible or unsafe with our weapons, just aggressive towards the enemy.

I think that training site is full of crap. FL's Dept of Agriculture, and statutes, still list the DD214 and hunter safety course as viable proof of training. That company is doing some false advertising.

That was my thoughts also....I was just waiting to see if someone came up with ANYTHING confirming what he said.

I also just sent this instructor an email asking for his source on this info.

From the FL Div of Licensing.

He is a member here....maybe he can clear it up for us?

I emailed the Dept of Agriculture and requested a reply from the Legal Dept. (Div). I will post any reply I receive.

I think that Eimer is just trying to drum up business for his classes. Way back when I was trying to find an instructor for a Utah license he was all about the money, he wanted $350 to do a personal class for Utah (not including the Utah fees), even told me he doesn't like doing Utah and (at that time) had no plans for a multi person Utah class. At that time he was only doing Florida classes.

I ended up finding an instructor who gave the class, at my house, with serveral forum members, for $50 each, photo's, prints & Utah fees not included.

As I'm sure you already have found Florida makes no mention of this whatsoever, here is the current application.

ACCEPTABLE TRAINING DOCUMENTATION
1. A photocopy of a certificate of completion of any of the courses or classes listed below. Do not send your original certificate
because it cannot be returned.
2. A copy of any document which shows completion of the course or class or evidences participation in firearms competition;
3. An affidavit from the instructor, school, club, organization, or group that conducted or taught the course or class attesting
to the completion of the course or class by the applicant below. Be sure to submit the original (notarized) affidavit
but make a copy for your records because it cannot be returned.
• Completion of any hunter education or hunter safety course approved by the Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission or a similar agency of another state;
• Completion of any National Rifle Association firearms safety or training course;
• Completion of any firearms safety or training course or class available to the general public offered by a law enforcement,
junior college, college, or private or public institution or organization or firearms training school, utilizing
instructors certified by the National Rifle Association, Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission,
or the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services;
• Completion of any law enforcement firearms safety or training course or class offered for security guards, investigators,
special deputies, or any division or subdivision of law enforcement or security enforcement;
• Presents evidence of equivalent experience with a firearm through participation in organized shooting competition
or military service (persons serving in the United States Armed Forces may submit a copy of their Military ID Card;
discharged persons may submit a copy of the DD-214);
• Is licensed or has been licensed to carry a firearm in this state or a county or municipality of this state, unless such
license has been revoked for cause;
• Completion of any firearms training or safety course or class conducted by a state-certified or National Rifle
Association-certified firearms instructor.

The photocopy of your training certificate must be clear and legible and include your name, the instructor’s name,

if they read it and not just accept that because you where in you have a clue. Like PA does for hunter safety.

The guy is shady to begin with. I wouldn't trust anything he says.

Just checked the "New" requirement page on the Fla. web site. According to it they accept NRA Certification and Hunter's Safety Course so where did that stuff come from other than his web site..........Maybe he knows something we don't.
Why doesn't somebody ask him..............?
