That only works if you win.

I have been to about a thousand hearings of various kinds, and about 80% of them go pretty much as expected. That means about 200 of them did not. Having "the law and the facts on your side" is often a matter of point-of-view, and many is the righteous litigant and learned counsel who wound up sitting at a lunch counter trying to figure out what went wrong.

Someone on this board asked if anyone is excited about this. I am. I'm the same kind of excited as one is trying to walk out of a mine field.

I hope everyone reads gunlawyer001's post carefully, and that there is a lot of intra-group discipline. It only takes two or three jerks or nut-cases to make everyone look bad; and if they don't come with your group, the govenment has been known to supply them.

Personally, I don't see the advantage of having anyone carry a firearm to this proceeding, open or otherwise. You are complicating your logistics, and opening the door to all manner of rather serious problem. Nobody can accuse you of irresponsible gun handling if you aren't handling a gun.

If nobody has a gun and the case is won, that is what people will remember. If some a---ole is photographed with a gun in his hand (as, for example, clearing the weapon preparatory to putting it in his car), that is what people will remember. And if there is any kind of an incident, I expect Gov. Rendell will have the resources to exploit it toward restrictive legislation.

Excited? I'm holding my breath.

PeteG....Your points are well taken. Let me just say that I can't think of another group of people I'd rather have with me as we walk through this minefield together.

I think that the majority of the people that are going to be showing up will will not be wearing their firearm in any manner different than usual. I put mine on everyday. One in my pocket, one on my side (sometimes openly, sometimes concealed). But regardless, they are there to protect myself and my family. If I were able to make to tomorrow (and I am sorry I cannot), I would do nothing different as far as carrying my firearm....and I believe the majority of those from this forum are the same way.

I won't be worth a penny at work tomorrow, as I will be thinking about Mr. Brotz and the hearing. Wish I could make it, but I gotta travel for work next week and have too many things to wrap up before the trip.

Good Luck!!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you!!!

The term you're referring to here is agent provocateur or "tree shaker". A very shopworn trick in the cloak & dagger crowd.

Or some other high profile incident with a spectacular police takedown and subsequent arrest, probably staged for the media. This is where it might not be a bad idea for everyone to wear the same PAFOA shirt. The instigator will really stand out.

The chances of that happening are very slim, and I still think a crowd of well dressed males presents a fine image. I highly doubt that they are smart enough to pull this off anyways, and the badges will handle the matter nicely.

That being said, goodnight everyone. See you tomorrow.
