I applaud your approach here, your letter is great (either/any version), though I agree with the softer suggestions.

Now....it seems like I need to say more than "I know you'll take care of this", so how about some suggestions? I'm thinking it should also convey the message "It doesn't matter if you think I should be able to do this or not. It's legal, so you need to back off", but in respectable language. Also, should I make a direct reference to specifically having Constable xxx educated, and should the full language go to everyone, or perhaps the part specifically regarding the correction of the Constable be sent only to the Court Administrator, since they oversee the Magesterial Districts, who in turn sub-contract with the Constables (thanks mikepro8 for that info!)?
NO problem. My wife is our county's Court Administrator.... she routinely deals with complaints about constables who act "unprofessionally," and other such complaints. In speaking with her about it, she said they actually subcontract with the District Attorney, but out of respct to the Court answer to the MDJ's as well as the Court Admins. (Court admins are employed by the Commonwealth - Administration of Pennsylvania Courts) Complicated, I know. He or she may be worth adding to your list. I am sure the DA would be happy that one of the LEO's he contracts with has not ideas what laws he is enforcing. Happy I could help our noble cause. Thank you for what you are doing.

But I always add, as a last line, if you would like to contact me to discuss this further, please feel free to do so at the contact info listed below/above. Then make sure you have your address at the very least. Phone number is preferred.

Just a suggestion.
Good suggestions and points. I merged the two a bit, added what Zef_66 suggested, and ended up with this:
Quote:
While I understand that everyone has their own opinions on any issue, I expect those discharging official duties to do so within the law. I will ask neither permission nor forgiveness when conducting myself in a lawful manner.

Thank you for your time and attention in this matter, and for ensuring that all involved in the voting process are aware of the law and do not harass or impede law abiding citizens like myself in the future simply because we choose to legally exercise our right to both carry a firearm and to vote. If you would like to contact me to discuss this further, please feel free to do so at the contact info listed below.
Also, based on a suggestion from another member, and also occuring to me while thinking about this at work today, I changed all references of "weapon" to "firearm", except where specifically quoting the Constable's language.

Added the DA to my list, and also radio host Bob Durgin.

UPDATE: I just received a letter from the Franklin County Sheriff's office notifying me that my LTCF has been revoked. "The reason for the REVOCATION is your involvement in which a gun was used by you in an apparent illegal manner."

There was also a slip from the post office that there is a certified letter from his office as well (which I can't pick up until Monday). Any ideas on what I'm facing and where I can find an attorney that will be able to assist me in the upcoming process??

Until you fight and win, often at considerable expense to you, the law is whatever they say it is.

Good luck on this, if there's anything I/we can do to help (letters, information etc...) please let us know. FWIW, I feel bad for you.

Maybe a good thing for PAFOA to donate towards. Helping win this case.

How do I actually go about appealing the revocation? I'm assuming an attorney is advisable for this as well?

Could there be possible additional criminal charges?

At least you can still OC (No, I'm not trying to make light of this. Don't take it that way). Find out what the charges are and call a lawyer and let us know what is up. I would chip some bucks in personally to help pay the lawyer fees. It won't be much. But if a lot of us did this, it may help you put up a good fight anyway. Everyone has been cheering you on. Now it is time to stand up and really support him. Are you all willing to chip in a few dollars to help pay for an attorney to fight this?

Could we set up a specific donation site on PAFOA that we could donate money towards that could be used for this.
