While winning is court is great, the only way these things will stop is to counter sue. The sheriff clearly knows he is in the wrong yet is perfectly happy to inconvinience you and make you pay to go to court to have it corrected. You need to make them pay.

Agreed.

However, let's not get the cart in front of the horse
He'll/We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Lets let gnbrotz and his counsel worry about winning the revocation hearing first.

I just spoke to the reporter on the phone and let him know that i thought that the piece was fairly done, and he stated that he does plan to follow up and attend the hearing.

Also said if anything happens feel free to let him know via phone or email, both of which are at the bottom of the article, but i'll put here just in case.

Can you show me *anywhere* in statute that Constables must be disarmed or out of uniform? The Sheriff or any Police, yes.

Because of past indescretions by law enforcement when armed during the voting process (strong arm voting persuation), the Commonwealth of PA passed legislation that prevents LEO from OC weapons at any polling facility.
There are several folks on this Forum that have cited these in the past. Perhaps you could search for the exact statutes that cover this.

I decided to review this long thread, as I couldn't remember whether I read the statute here or in another thread.
In the OPs FIRST post I found;
" When I went to my polling place tonight I was asked by the Constable there if "that was a weapon". I replied that it was. He said I would have to leave because weapons were not allowed in the polling place. I asked him what law this was based on. He said it was in the Voting Regulations, to which I replied "That applies to police officers". He said that was correct. He got the regulation book and asked if I would step outside to discuss the matter. I agreed. He turned to the page that had the regulation regarding the police and read it off to me. I told him that I agreed completely, BUT, I was not a police officer, just a private citizen. This seemed to surprise him a bit. "

Seems to have surprised you as well.

I'm quite sure (without looking it up) that constables are not included with other LEO's as being required to be disarmed. It is also my understanding that is exactly why they are/were originally requested to be present at the polls. Although I'm unsure what this has to do with the overall discussion.
