Seems strange that he would say the court will agree. If that's the case he should just reissue the LTCF, admit he was wrong and be done with it.
He's wrong and knows it. But that doesn't seem to matter much to him. He'll tie up the court system, spend taxpayers money and cause grief to law abiding citizens...because he can. Somebody needs to investigate that office. How many other law abiding citizens have had their rights taken away because of this jagoffs opinion? Bullying tactics....wow....get this guy a mirror.
If they toss it out before it goes to court, I hope the sheriff can't turn around and make Greg re-apply for his LTCF. After reading about him, he sounds like someone who would do that just to be a prick.

"You can't treat your privilege of being able to carry a firearm as a bully threat," Wollyung said. "There are some places you don't carry a firearm -- bars and churches. It's common sense.
I bet there are quite a few people who are glad that Jeanne Assam went against her better judgment and common sense and was such a bully that she carried her firearm to church in CO.

Seriously, what is this sheriff thinking?

Ret-Fed is on a distinguished road
Thumbs up Re: Hassled at the polls for OCing

FYI: Franklin County President Judge John R. Walker is a long-time hunter and common sense judge who I would expect to understand the importance of our gun rights in Pennsylvania. Mr. Rotz is fortunate that Judge Walker will be hearing his case. Sheriff Wollyung will be replaced in January by a new Franklin County Sheriff, since he (Wollyung) decided to not run for re-election.

Wow. That article supports some of my suspicions about the sheriff.

1) He thinks his opinion about what he would do is somehow relevant to other peoples rights.

2) He thinks that OC = threat, "bullying", and "panic" even though we have case law saying otherwise.

3) He doesn't understand Title18,ch61,A, SS6120. AKA state preemption.

4) He's ignorant to the fact that he'sworn to uphold citizens RIGHTS, not find ways to impede them.

5) He could give a flying flip because he's gone in a month.

Did I miss anything?

I also would add that I am very pleased with the news article. From my 3rd person viewpoint I think the reporter should be commended for their fairness and quality of the story.
I think it is exemplory in this day and age of "left" leaning media.
I'm going to write a feedback note now at the newspaper link.

Once you win the court case is there going to be a suit filed against the sherrifs office?

While winning is court is great, the only way these things will stop is to counter sue. The sheriff clearly knows he is in the wrong yet is perfectly happy to inconvinience you and make you pay to go to court to have it corrected. You need to make them pay.
