Can you apply for a non-residen FLA permit without having one from your home state? Since his has been revoked he no longer has one from his home state.

I believe you can get a non-resident from FL without one in your home state, but I know you can from utah. It was already suggested.

Gnbrotz has enough legal problems. Looking for a loop hole isn't the answer. Not thinking Pa can do anything about is not helping anyone.

Worse advice I've ever seen!!!

He has a lawyer, let him goive him advice.

i'd get an out of state carry permit if I didnt already have one if they pulled mine for OCing... lots of PA residents carry on out of state carry permits for various reasons, nothing illegal about it.

It's not bad advice and perfectly lawful. You do not need a home state LTC to get one from Florida, you just have to meet Florida's requirements. This isn't a loophole folks, anyone in possession of a valid Florida Concealed Weapons License is licensed to carry in Pennsylvania. That's the law.

yeah someone in another thread said to put a weapon in the hand of a BG you just shot. IMO that would certainly qualify.

OK let me elaborate then...worse advice I've seen given to Gnbrotz.

He's got enough legal problems for doing something we know is legal.

This Sheriff has already demonstrated he does not understand Pa Law, how can you expect him to understand Fl Law?

How can anyone think going out of state for a CCW is going to help Gnbrotz's legal position???

Go ask a lawyer if this is good advice, doubt any will agree.

what do you think is illegal about it? i'd bet a good amount of police have no idea about reciprocity, or how to even say the word but it doesn't mean its illegal to carry on one.

I never said it was illegal.

I said the Sheriff does not understand Pa law.

My personal opinion is this costing Gnbrotz enough trouble and money, there's no need to push the issue with the Sheriff by obtaining a CCW from out of state. If I were in Gnbrotz's situation I wouldn't carry at all until this issue was settled. I think that's the smart thing to do.
