Probably neighbors, i'm from Staten island. Actually born in Brooklyn, moved to Staten Island in 1970, and finally moved to Pennsylvania (a slice of heaven) in June. Actually 4 more days, I will be living in PA for 3 whole months!
I can't hide that i'm from NYC, as soon as I start to speak its obvious. Maybe I should get some PA speech lessons..............

Hey JSB .. thanks man! No, unfortunately I have never read that book but now I might need to make a run to Barnes & Noble. "Stack" is just a shortened version of my very Polish last name. Back when I was in the military that became my name.. Stack... that's it. It's stuck ever since. At least that was the only name they told me about!


Michele: if you are from SI then we were most definitely neighbors. You probably have been to one of the two enormous malls near my old stomping grounds. I was about 10 minutes from the outer brigde.

I moved out to PA almost 3 years ago and haven't looked back. Unfortunately I still work across the border but ya' gotta do what ya' gotta do! You couldn't pay me to move back...... never going to happen.

Heck, just throw out a "Yinz" "n-at" and "Gynt Iggle" every now and then, and people will think yer from Pittsburgh! LOL

In NYC its sometimes jokingly called the Goomba speech pattern.
But my speech pattern is pure Brooklyn-eese. I do also speak Goomba, tirty thrd and thrd, and fuhghettabowtit.
I guess i'm just bilingual. Lucky me!
