Default LTCF - If I Move?

If I move to another county in PA (having one in Allegheny), what should I do to ensure I keep a valid LTCF?

Default Re: LTCF - If I Move?

I just recently had this same question as I moved from Lycoming county to Snyder County. So I went to the Snyder county sherrif's website and sent them an email. This is the response I got:

Quote:
Mr. Knipe:

There is nothing that needs to be done in regards to the address. That was your current address when the license was issued and the license is valid until it expires or is revoked by the issuing authority. There are no provisions in the statute requiring a change of address.

When your current license expires you will need to make application with our office.

Thank you.

Sheriff Reigle
So I am not going to do anything. Hope this helps!

Would it be a new application or a renewal application? Would it be a renewal application or a new license (so you could apply 60 days before it expires)?

You really don't have to do anything. Your LTCF remains valid. Just remember to get get your change of address into PennDot for your driver's license.

When the time comes for your license to expire, you need to fill out a renewal license with your new address, I believe.

Suggestion! I would keep a copy of that letter in your wallet or vehicle ..Just in case you run into a Deputy or PO who doesn't know the ruling. IMHO

I just renewed my State LTCF- but it was considered a new license - see my post here - http://www.pafoa.org/forum/concealed...tcf-story.html

Nobody seemed to care much about it - but it seemed odd to me... that I had to apply for a new State LTCF - when I clearly already had one that just needed to be renewed....
