Default ak pistols

How feasible do you all think it would be to carry an ak pistol? i was thinking maybe for a vehicle for emergencies and since you cant keep a loaded rifle in the vehicle why not an ak "pistol" have it mounted in the car door to complement your standard sidearm

And does anyone make a saiga 12 pistol config? that would be great :]

IANAL, but to the best of my knowledge, you can NOT carry a loaded long gun in your vehicle, even if you have an LTCF.

Also, to the best of my knowledge, but I'm not 100% positive on, it is illegal to convert a long gun (rifle or shotgun) into a pistol without going through the $200 NFA registration process. A pistol with a rifle receiver, such as an AK pistol or AR pistol, would have top be transferred as a pistol, and would have no legal association with its long gun counterpart.

IANAL, so take it FWIW, but I'd ere on the side of caution.

I think BTA88 is correct that it's illegal to convert a rifle/shotgun to a pistol.

Also, AFAIK rifles can not be carried loaded in a vehicle in PA.

You asked about the "saiga 12 pistol config", that would be an AOW, or if it has a stock it would be a SBS.

there are much easier ways to get your ass sent to prison than to carry an AK-47 pistol and use a screen name as "TriggerHappy".

I'm not hating, more power to you, but you'd never make it out of that court-room with a favorable verdict should the worst happen.

You can buy AK pistols, so they would be legal to carry or keep in your car. However, they are unwieldy and heavy. It'd be a lot easier to carry a Glock 17 and a spare magazine (about 34 rounds).
Also...if you really think you need that much firepower, you'd be better off moving to a more sedate area.

You can not legally keep a loaded long gun in your vehicle in Pennsylvania.

this is wholly incorrect, try not to declare absolutes.

you can keep a loaded rifle or shotgun in your vehicle in PA as long as it meets the definition of a "firearm" for LTCF purposes.

this definition means:
pistol or revolver with a barrel of 15" or less (includes AOWs.)
rifle with a barrel less than 16" (rgistered NFA Short Barreled Rifle)
shotgun with a barrel less than 18" (registered NFA Short Barreled Shotgun)

you may NOT carry or transport a loaded TITLE 1 rifle or shotgun in a vehicle in PA.

I can carry my P90 SBR loaded in my vehicle or on me
I can carry my AR-15 SBR loaded in my vehicle or on me
I can carry my M16(sub 16" barrel), or Uzi full autos loaded in m vehicle or on me
I can carry my Benelli Entry gun loaded in my vehicle or on me
I can carry my Krink Ak pistol loaded in my vehicle or on me

the above match the descriptions for LTCF carry weapons.

may not be the smartest thing, but I can do it, and have on occasion, had bigger firepower available than may be required

I think i'd rather pay the extra to have an SBR rather than a rifle caliber pistol.

When I lived in AZ, a CCW meant anything not full auto.

Here in NV, You can carry a rifle loaded in a vehicle but not chambered.

An AK pistol, while is a handgun, I would feel awkward qualifying with it beind so bold to add that gun to my permit, but you can have it loaded and chambered in a car.

I thought krinkovs were pistol versions of aks and not considered a SBR.
