IF you would be so inclined to practice just a bit, you might be ever so slightly surprised at how quickly you can present from an ankle rig. I might highlight the IF. It will not be as quick as your primary gun presentation BUT if deeper concealment is a must and you are bending, lifting, climbing, flopping around on the ground or doing anything that might expose your primary, I would suggest a similar carry. The strap snap is released when you attain a master grip by forcing your thumb through the snap. Even if the strap releases completely(both snap and velcro), the pistol can be fired.

When you are driving, this might be easier access than a 4 o'clock belt presentation.

Edit to add that I have worn this rig for over 16 hours on some days with no discomfort. It's on now but so is the Glock23.

My thoughts.
Looks like someone needs to clean out the car or truck alittle bit....lol

Weak side front pocket.

Try to dress for easier concealability and access. ie: If blue jeans are hard to pocket carry in, maybe khaki dockers would be a better choice. Even buying a pair of pants one size larger would help with an IWB holster.

I'm not sure how that would have played out had i been wearing a SOB holster but the incident verified to me that I personally will never carry in that manner.

Some of my friends do carry like that, swear by it and will never carry otherwise so to each his own ( primary carry in one case).

I hurt or was uncomfortable for many months after that.

Just my .02 for whatever it's worth or not worth dependent on your point of view.

So let's just say you're carrying strong side and the same thing happens only instead of falling on your back you fall on your strong side. My point is, you fell, it was an accident, and you happen to fall backwards. Could have fallen on your side just as easy. I'm sure it was a one time deal that you fell and you don't fall every time your feet hit the snow.....

My wife carrys her S&W 642, along with a Shurfire light & her pepper spray, in a Blackhawk fanny pack on her daily walks with the dog. I've used it before & it works pretty well. For purse carry, she has a cheap IWB clip holster that she attaches to one of the pockets inside her purse.

Whoa, I had just done that .

Plumbers cartrucks and walking in 2 inches of slurry mud on a rainy day gets you that. .

Carrying strong side and falling doesn't put the pistol between your spine and the ground and I have fallen on my strong side. It probably just missed giving me a hip pointer by carrying at 4.

My response was based on an article I read addressing more of a potential crippling injury occurring while carrying SOB and landing on the gun. I'll see if I can come up with that info but it was quite a while ago.

I'm not trying to dissuade you from carrying in however a manner you care to. It's MY opinion that you can get severely hurt by landing how I did with a gun there.

I have broken my tail bone before in a similar incident at work carrying material over ice and have gone down without injury quite a few times. I just know I don't want my gun there.

Carry on.

I carried my BUG on duty in a holster that my wife sewed up for me; it was attached to the straps of my body armor.

Since that time, several companies have come out with similar holsters.

Our uniform shirts had zippers, so access was pretty easy, and I could access it with my primary or secondary hand.

I always carried a S&W J frame .38 special, though the model varied throughout the years.

Boy you're accident prone........you sure you're not wearing roller skates?
Too each his own, yeah I'm sure that would hurt but that would be some pinpoint falling. I've seen and read articles that go both ways on the issue.

On my wife usually.

Otherwise, I like to have it strong side in my front pocket. I realize that it makes it very difficult for weak side draw. But when I am in deep cover mode that is where it lives and I like to be consistent.
