I know what the law, but interpreting the law and a situation I may be put into are not always crystal clear. I understand that I must be "afraid for my life, or in danger of being severally injured...ext" in order to use deadly force. What if a Bad Guy pulls a gun on me and says "give me your money". I feel as though my first reaction would be to shoot him. If anyone sticks a gun in my face, I would probably interpret that as a life threatening gesture. Would I be wrong in assuming so? What if I was in a WaWa and someone pulls a gun on the clerk? Do I have a duty to pull my weapon and aim it at the Bad Guy and demand he disarm himself? Do I have the right or obligation to do such a thing? If it was just me and the bad guy, it would be different, I am only making the decision for myself. I was just wondering what your take on this is?

Thanks.
this course would be great for you

youll need a 3-day class first

start making a priority list and plan for next year.

if you have "woken up" and want to take this seriously then it isnt hard to find what you you are looking for. But it will take some work on your part, and it cant be found on the internet.

I read a lot of articles stating that the LEO expects you to hand over the money, and that you may get in trouble as they don't think it's justifiable. But then again in the town I used to live in, they demanded an old mans wallet, he gave it to him and they killed him right afterwards.

I think that Steve and Beer are right. I am still waiting for my LTCF and have pretty much thought of every scenario that has come to my head. Sometimes the same scenario more than once, because then the what if's come in to mind. I had a bad experience, but was unarmed, so had to use my hands. So the scenarios flow.

I look at the prices of training and think wow, pretty expensive. But I am definitely saving my dollars because it would be worth every penny.

My neighbor would argue that you carry a revolver and learn to shoot through your clothes.

I checked out the Classic Pistol Website. I'm signing up for the both classes the next time I go in to shoot.

Thanks for the feedback.

You might consider signing up for one of our very own Gunlawyer001's seminars on the exact topic you ask about in the OP.....

Unless I can safely get to cover where I can get my pistol into play, a BG with a gun on me will probably get whatever money is in my wallet.
It goes against everything I believe in to say this, but giving the BG the $50 or $100 in your wallet may be the best money you ever spent. It's much cheaper than what you're going to spend on a lawyer when the BG's family tries to sue you for shooting their "good little boy." And you can bet they will.

2 immutable Truths:

1) If a BG pulls a gun on you, you should feel in danger of your life, because you are.

2) If you decide to give your wallet/watch etc over to said BG because of his demands, this DOES NOT mean they will not shoot you anyway! (this does happen!)

Personally, I carry a gun just in case this situation ever arises. IMO, too many people are too concerned about things which should have no standing in a life and death situation. What is the point of carrying a gun if one is going to question whether to use it in a life and death situation?

JMHO.

You're right up to a point, but if a BG has a gun in your face, going for your weapon will get you a ride in the coroners wagon. If you decide not to give up your wallet/watch, I think it would be a better time for hand to hand tactics to disarm or disable the BG. After the gun is out of my face, then I decide what to do. That's my thinking on a up-close-and-personal encounter.

Right. If the gun is literally IN your face, then you're much better of shooting him with his gun than your own. A gun within arm's reach is as good as yours, if you know what you're doing. (And therefore, if you draw on a man, keep the hell back from him.)

DISCLAIMER: Don't even dream of such a thing until you've actually been taught how to disarm a man. If he has the drop on you, give him your dough and hope for the best.

This happened to me and there is some good discussion on Deadly Force

IMO - you draw when you have no recourse- life or death. When you are dealing with crack heads ALWAYS ASSUME THE WORST !! If you draw on someone that has a gun pointed at you, you better be quick and accurate. Be safe
