once again you miss my point. He was not open carrying! he had his gun concealed . Do you understand that? He accidently showed his gun to the cashier. Scaring the girls is not the way to "exercise his rights" . I agree with you you can open carry in Pennsylvania. But he was not open carrying. He made a mistake and flashed his gun. Do you understand this?

Once again you are wrong. The OP said he accidently flashed his gun I pointed out a way for this not to happen again. So you are saying concealed does not mean concealed? Then what does concealed mean? I don't follow your logic.
Yes he freaked out the girls. They called the cops.Their ignorance of the law didn't scare them, his gun did. Sloppy gun managment on his part is to blame. |

so really in a round about way they WERE scared of the "evil gun" due to lack of education and acceptance. if cars were dubbed evil people would cower every time they saw a car too, that doesn't mean i should park my car in the garage and hope no one gets scared if they see it accidentally. i bet you in the old days out west no one thought twice when they saw a cowboy with a gun strapped to his hip that was just going about his business.

Chemical, as correct as you are about OC, not everyone wants to be, nor has the time and money to be, an ambassador for the truth in gun laws. Some folks just want to protect themselves and their family in a quiet way.
The OP stated he was carrying concealed, IMO, indiandave was pointing out that he could have concealed better. No need for an argument here. There are countless threads here on the pros and cons of OC. To the OP, kind of ironic that the very reason for wanting to move to Pa happened in Pa. Good luck and welcome to the PAFOA. . .

Ya, I am still getting used to the whole concept of concealed carry. In my opinion the best way to learn is to practice and that is what I am doing. I understand what you both are saying and it makes sesne, both of you. I tell people I carry my gun and they ask me why I think I'll need it at the grocery store, or WaWa I just know the day their Giant or WaWa gets robbed they'll wish someone was CCing. Conceal carry serves a dual purpose, to keep bad guys guessing but it also makes foolish sorority chicks from NY and NJ feel better about not seeing a gun around them.

I guess I missed the original point entirely!! I thought he was talking aboput on campus, to which I replied that it may be against policy but not the law. The have the right to expel you, but nobody wil EVER know if you conceal well. Thats what I did at my college. As far as around town, do whatever the hell you want. I VERY loosely conceal, meaning an OWB holster even with a tshirt, if it shows I really don't care. My uncle is Radnor LE so I have talked to him about it and, believe it or not, they are pretty well trained on carry laws and in my experience (and others, search "lprgcfrank") they are as professional and reasonable as any PD I know of.
