Oh hey,

Sorry for the post which the moderator took as armchair legal advice.

It wasn't, but I don't make the rules here, nor do I determine the interpretation of said same.

I'M NOT A LAWYER. Any ADVICE I might have given was meant strictly as common sense advice, NOT legal advice. (Disclaimer placed here to assuage the trepidations of the moderating staff.)

Trust me, it won't happen again. I'll gladly let you guys follow fool's advice, rather than look at an simple issue from a straight forward perspective and provide a suggestion to act accordingly.

If I have now AGAIN violated some rule, well moderators, do your thing.

The Mods pretty much only pick on members when they're being complete tools.

And they *rarely* delete or change the content of member's posts unless they were being pretty much darn tools (usually about something specific). They're pretty good that way.

So, if the shoe fits...

Look, I don't know you, and I'm new here, but I'm no rookie to the real world, and I know bad advice and mis-statements of fact when I see it.

"Amateur Lawyering" is a rules violation here, and I've stated to the moderator that I'll provide no more advice that could be construed as that, plain and simple. I've already stated here that I'm not a lawyer, just a guy who, as a business owner, has spent the last 30 years interpreting contracts, township, county (Delaware County) state and federal ordinances, and have had significant experience with them.

As to law enforcement knowledge, my wife if a former Federal LEO, worked a pretty seedy group of bad guys for quite some time, and has more than a passing familiarity with the law and its interpretation. I follow her advice to the letter, as she knows better than me what is or isn't going to be a problem with law enforcement contact.

Don't like what I post, that's fine. We can choose to agree or disagree, but to lower this discussion to this personal a level is unseemly, and doesn't belong on a site where we're supposed to have a commonality based in philosophy and interests.

so you can get cuffed and stuffed and spend the night with the chuffed, and unless someone runs to your house before you meet the judge you will have to plead innocent and produce to the judge through a motion to dismiss before or at trial. you will definitely experience an interruption of schedule, and some legal expense.

so either carry your liscense or wear a chastity belt and leave the keys at home.

some county sheriffs issue LTCF that look like a Sportsmans Permit , i seen a few , not every Sheriff issues a Photo Copied one. Its up to the LEO that asks for the LTCF license and decides what to do if you dont have it on you some will make a hassle and some wont.

FWIW .... my wife was issued a LTCF from Delaware County, DL type, lost her purse and was told she'd have to re-apply to get another one at the Sheriff's Office.

Did she indeed do that?

Seems to me her original license would need to be cancelled or something before a new one is issued? That really sux...why make her apply for a new one when the old one is perfectly valid and just needs re-issued?

Not yet, she keeps putting it off.

Delaware County has never made anything easy when it comes to government services.
