1: they aren't CCP's you're applying for they are LTCF
2: we don't have a registry in pa....yeah i don't buy that either but since you can transfer firearms between family members without a FFL you can just give her the gun if you're worried about it

The license to carry a firearm grants you six privileges:

* You may carry concealed on or about your person outside of your abode or fixed place of business (read, “in public”).
* You may carry (in any manner) in a vehicle.
* You may carry (in any manner) in a city of the first class (read, “Philadelphia”).
* You may carry (in any manner) during a declared state of emergency.
* You may carry (in any manner) in a Gun Free School Zone, which is anywhere within 1000 feet of a school.
* You may carry concealed in a State Park.

As far as I'm aware, a handgun can be "gifted" between a husband and wife, child and parent, or grandparent and grandchild with no paperwork necessary, provided that the recipient is eligible to possess a handgun. I'm sure another member can quote the relevant statute.

That said, I'm not a lawyer.

So if we had a "situation" like in New Orleans or Marshall Law is declared, legally they can not disarm me?

Are you sure about this? I've seen this topic brought up on this forum a number of times and sometimes the answer seems to be yes and other times it seems to be no.

If you have a LTCF, you are exempt and may go within 1000ft of a school. You just cannot go onto their property

Do you mean there is no registry of firearms in PA, or do you mean there is not supposed to be one? When they do a background check, isn't the serial number included? If so, then isn't it registered, or is the gun registered, but not the owner? I 'm trying to learn all I can, so please don't be annoyed at my ignorance.

There isn't supposed to be a registry but the PSP keep an "incomplete database" of all gun sales and transactions within the commonwealth. They are allowed to maintain it because it is incomplete, despite a registry being illegal.
