having an LTCF and actually carrying are two different questions, though.
i know several people who have LTCFs just to make it easier to transport their guns to and from the range...they don't actually carry. |

Very true, I'm just trying to get a feel for how many members here have a LTCF.

Those of us that exercise our rights to the fullest carry sans permit, the way it was intended. ![]() Edited to add: not that I'm one of those people, just clarifying the point.

If you're on this forum and don't have one, we've got a problem.
With the amount of information on here, there's no reason anyone shouldn't have their LTCF. You may not want to carry, I don't carry often unless I'm going out somewhere or travelling through the City but I have it for 1: Cause I can and 2: So I don't have to worry about all the BS transport laws. If you have a gun, you need an LTCF. Period.

I think I had my LTCF before I had my Glock.
It was several years back. Wife never carries, but has the permit in case she feels the need to do so when I'm not with her. I'm sure there are plenty of folks that don't have one as they only use a gun for home defense. I'd also imagine a lot of people think they need a "good reason" to apply for a permit and don't do so because they think they'll be turned down. It's funny how many people are shocked to learn that I carry. "Do you have a PERMIT for that?" they ask, like it's some document that's reserved for kings, armored car guards and law enforcement. They always seem amazed that a "normal" person can get one. Hell, before this forum I was still unclear on the whole open carry thing. I THOUGHT it was legal, but wasn't certain. That's why it's important for each of us to share our firearms knowledge with the sheeple of the earth. Go forth and educate, my children! |

I don't have a LTCF... I actually don't even own a gun... in fact, never even touched one!
I'm here in this forum mainly because I believe in the natural right to self-defense (both against common criminals and against the depredations of a tyrannical government), in our constitutional form of government (esp. a bill of rights protecting the right to arms), and in the rule of law. Maybe I'll eventually end up buying a shotgun for home defense, and practice shooting skeet / trap recreationally. In that case I'd probably get a LTCF just to avoid trouble in transporting the gun to the range; I don't see myself carrying a handgun in the near future. |
