I got my permit about a year ago. I carried on and off for a while. Mostly when out in town but when going to and from work I left it at home. That changed about seven months ago.
I don't think I have left the house in about five months without my gun. I don't plan on leaving it at home in the future either. |

I have the license and carry most of the time. I travel to MD often (out of necessity and not by desire I assure you) and do not carry when going into that communist environment. Too bad I can't just unload and separate the ammo from the pistol and lock one but their laws won't even allow for that

In the late 70’s I worked as an alarm technician servicing UL accounts on the overnight shift. Many times I arrived before the PD and got my CCW in NY as a first responder.
In the 80’s I managed a Security company (Alarm Systems and Armed Guards) in TX and was licensed by the Texas Board of Private Security Agencies. In the 90’s I moved back to the Communist State of New York and took a desk job with an alarm manufacturing company and did not re-apply for my CCW (as Long Island, NY needs a reason for one). (Didn’t say I didn’t carry)… I have been shot at and returned fire on more than one occasion. I have had a lot of training in the past (Texas used to make you qualify and take a course yearly, company required every 6 months), and shot pistol and trap almost every weekend between 79 and 89. But, after almost 10 years not firing a pistol I figured it was time to get a little coaching, so I took an NRA course. I found a great NRA instructor near Paterson, NJ who had been through a home invasion and “chooses not to be a victim”. He shoots in competitions across the country, and his emphasis in training is on self defense and surviving a gunfight. I still meet him at the range some Sunday afternoons when I get the time. I now own a Furniture Medic franchise and sometimes carry a lot of cash. So I decided to get my LTCF about a month ago. Feels good to carry legal again. Of course, I don’t shoot nearly as good as I did in the 80’s (must have something to do with reflexes and eyesight.. and maybe dun-lap). |

I have one. It was quite an ordeal getting one though. the Deputy in Delaware Co. who was handling my permit must have been real busy at the time. It took over 50 days. Never owned any firearms untill late last year, now I have 5. I cary all the time, except at work because of policy. My handgun may not be on me there but I try to keep it handy.

If you don't have one and you're eligable to get one, I would call you an idiot for not doing so ASAP.
It protects you from all sorts of nonsense gun laws and misinterpretations of the law. Transporting a handgun from your homw to the range can land you in jail if a live round happened to fall into the gun case, or you forgot to unload, or your buddy calls looking to meet up for some reason and you stop there before you go home. It's just not worth the risk. 1 in 21 PA residents have a LTCF.

Not at all. The LTCF doesn't apply just to concealed carry but also to carrying openly while in your vehicle and open carry in Philadelphia and loaded while in your trunk.
