When I was younger, I wasn't certain how I would handle shooting another person and so I thought it best not to carry and hesitate.
Things change, the world around you gets suckier (is that a real word?) and you find that there are people you love who deserve your protection because it's your responsibility and no-one else's. I still have no desire to harm another person, but would not hesitate to do so if warranted. It's a jungle out there and this mouse is armed! Predators would be advised to prowl elsewhere.

I had the LTCF before I purchased my first Pistol. I carry about 75% of the time when I leave the house. When I am with my Wife & Three Daughters its more like 95%. I HAVE A DEEP DOWN DESIRE TO PROTECT MY FAMILY & LOVE ONES TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY.

I'm here in this forum mainly because I believe in the natural right to self-defense (both against common criminals and against the depredations of a tyrannical government), in our constitutional form of government (esp. a bill of rights protecting the right to arms), and in the rule of law.

Maybe I'll eventually end up buying a shotgun for home defense, and practice shooting skeet / trap recreationally. In that case I'd probably get a LTCF just to avoid trouble in transporting the gun to the range; I don't see myself carrying a handgun in the near future.

I voted 'No' for now, but you can be certain that as soon as I turn 21 in late May, I will be paying Denny Nau (the Centre County sheriff; I think I spelled his name right) a visit to get my LTCF.
