Default Handgun Carry Permit Info ( Bedford County)

3-22-07

I had to re-new my carry permit today, so I thought I would take a few seconds and update Bedford County residents on whats up.

Place of issue for Bedford County is the County Jail / Sheriffs Office.

Cost of Permit is $26.00 total payable to Bedford County Sheriff cash or check.

You will need to fill out a one page application and list two references that are not family members. All you need for this is name, city of residents, phone number.

You will also need your Pa. drivers license.

Hand the application back and wait for a instant check to be done.

Once the instant check is complete, they will take your picture right there, and hand you the new permit that looks much like your drivers license.

Total amount of time : 10-15 mins.

Very simple in Bedford County.

Bedford County Sheriff
Gordon E. Diehl

425 Imlertown Road, Suite 1
Bedford Pa. 15522

Update to last post.
1. Sheriff's office moved and is now in the old part of court house on left side as of December 2007. WE ARE NOT AT THE JAIL.
2. Permits are now $25.00 as per statute.
3. We are NFA friendly.
4. Obtaining permit is still easy.
5. Any firearms questions ,stop in and I will answer same or find the answer and get back to you.

I do not currently do pistol or long gun transfers currently. The main reason for this is I do not want to compete with our firearms dealers in the county.
