That's the process outlined on the Sheriff's website.
I just got mine in December and went through the same process. I would have hoped a renewal wouldn't require all the references and whatnot but from my understanding, it's the same process as the original application. FYI, They don't check the references or anything like that. At least they didn't check mine.

the new sheriff is an anti-gun moron.
defazio may have been crooked, but at least he was on the money when it came to gun rights. |

Got my LTCF this past Dec.
I was in and out of the Greensburg Court house less than 15 mins. The young woman taking the photos that day was super good looking.

In 2005 when my wife and I went to renew, I don't recall needing references again for the renewal.(I may be wrong, I have trouble remembering what I was wearing yesterday!) We filled out the forms, had our photos taken and left with our new cards. The only thing I really remember was that the guy behind the counter asked if I had my handgun on me and I said "no, I know that my permit is expired and needed to be renewed." He wasn't snotty or anything, he probably would have pointed out that I was not legally carrying when I came in if I had answered "yes." (I think our permits had been expired for a week before we could schedule a time to go downtown.) Also, I think he said it can be renewed "X" many days before it expires, but I can't recall for sure.

they told me this morning, 60 days before you expire and 90 days after your expiration date. grace period. the lady that took my info was very nice, and said the reason for the change was (home land security) but we all know it is the new sheriff.

Yes she is...as I recall, great smile, great everything. If I worked in the courthouse, I would have to "loose" my LTCF about once a week.
