You have to do it with your drivers license, within 15 days if memory serves, so if it were me, I'd do it with the LTCF too... just in case of any LEO "confrontations" in the future... for all we've heard about how even LEOs don't always know the gun laws, you might get one who thinks the LTCF is no longer valid with an old address that doesn't match your driver's license.

There may indeed be valid reasons for doing so, and there is no reason not to notify the sheriff where you got it from, if you so choose. My point was there is also not law compelling you to do so.

The sheriff's office told you that you have to notify them?! Then it must be true, they never lie about firearm and LTCF related subjects

If you choose to notify them, I am not sure they even update you in the state data base. They may update your file, so they can send the reminder of expiration to your new address, and they may want to have that info so they can send the registered letters to your correct address, they may even put the new info on a new card(for a nominal fee), but there is nothing that says you must notify them of an address change AFAIK, and I have searched.
